I am working for Abu Dhabi Municipality IRI- Design section for Abu Dhabi Islands project design Team.
Following are some of the job responsibilities;
• Reviewing Technical aspects of submitted projects by Consultants ensuring that Abu Dhabi latest Standards are followed in the design.
• Conducting Meetings with consultants and other stake holders.
• Reviewing Road geometry, traffic and Road safety aspect of the projects. Giving Technical support to Project design Team.
• Attending conference and workshops and Internal group meetings
• Review/approval of roads and infrastructure projects for Abu Dhabi city.
• Unification and improvement of Abu Dhabi Standards and Guidelines for Roads and Infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge transfer and training for Emirati engineers.
• Coordination between stakeholders and Government authorities
• Coordinate with Traffic Services Section to ensure the design satisfies capacity requirements as per the traffic studies and also ensure that the safety considerations are incorporated.
• Guide consultants in applying the concepts of Sustainability, Green Roads and Value Engineering.
• Study and design quick win projects, such as retrofitting existing road network as per the Urban Street Design Manual, enhancing pedestrian and cyclist route as per walking and cycling master plan and guidelines for Projects as Miscellaneous and maintenance projects
• Participate in the objectives of “Design Section Annual Plan and KPI’s” to enhance the design section capabilities.
I worked for Abu Dhabi Municipality Traffic Services Section - Road safety Unit for City (Main land and Islands).
Following are some of the job responsibilities;
• Conduct road safety survey in various locations as instructed by the line manager.
• Specifying scope of work and discussing requirements with the client and other professionals.
• Analyzing Road safety survey data, mapping the data with computer aided / modeling software.
• Use computer-aided design Packages such as Auto Cad, Auto Turn etc. to check for vehicle maneuvering.
• Site visits regarding the safety inspection for Pedestrian route vulnerable to safety hazards.
• Safety inspection regarding lack of / or missing Pedestrian connectivity issues.
• Safety inspections regarding unsafe road layouts and possibility of related traffic accidents.
• Preparing Assessment Reports and Safety Memos for site inspections highlighting the safety issues and recommending corrective safety measures.
• Attending progress meetings and other work related meeting with concerned Authorities.
Working in Abu Dhabi Municipality Maintenance section dealing with Maintenance related issues in Abu Dhabi Island keeping in line with latest Abu Dhabi Standards including USDM. Responsible for Taking Design Approvals from Town Planning department, ADM Design, Traffic Sections and Road Safety Unit.
Some of the job responsibilities are as follows;
• Site condition survey to study the requirement given by clients in their requests.
• Specifying scope of work discussing requirements with the client and other professionals.
• Analyzing survey, mapping and materials-testing data with computer modeling software.
• Use computer-aided design Packages such as Mx road, Auto Cad, Auto Turn etc.
• Geometric design of streets using design software’s.
• Preparing Assessment reports, Designs reports and Maintenance reports and drawings.
• Obtaining Design Approvals from Abu Dhabi municipality Design Section, Traffic and road safety section and Town planning department.
• Liaising with relevant professional staff.
• Attending weekly progress meetings and other design related meeting with concerned Authorities.
• Coordination with on board contractors, reviewing their Shop drawings and giving approvals.
• Site visits in order to check the contractors work in accordance with set standards and giving advice and solution of concerns and issues arousing during construction.

Improvement of Intersection At IP- 5A ( Intersection of Street -30 with Street -7), Improving Parking area’s in the surrounding and improving Pedestrian facilities in line with Latest UPC standard.
2. Improvement of Junctions, Main Street and Parking Area’s in Fatima Bint Mubarak Street
Improvement includes the modification of junction and street lane as per USDM standards. Improving Parking areas along the street and improving Pedestrian facilities in line with Latest UPC standard
3. Improvement works in Sector W-44
Improvement includes, milling of Road, improving Parking areas, Round About, Pedestrian facilities and Storm water drainage network.
4. Improving Parking Area’s and Service road Along Al-falah Street.
5. Traffic Safety Improvement Measures in Sector W-56 between Street 30 and Street -2.
6. Improvement of Parking Area and Surrounding’s for Hamdan center. Sector E-03 West.
7. Traffic Safety Improvement work on Salam Street near Saada Bridge.
8. Abu Dhabi Municipality Rice Distribution Stores - Parking Modification and Improvements P# 2- Street # 31 etc. And many other works in progress

Working on Design Proposals, Geometric Design of Urban Roads, Minor Roads and Parking’s using Design software’s and USDM for Abu Dhabi.
Responsible for Taking Design Approvals from Town Planning department, ADM Design, Traffic Sections and Road Safety Unit.

• Member of the design team involved in the design and preparation of working drawings for roads projects for Abu Dhabi Municipality.
• Discussing requirements with the client and other related departments.
• Conducting site condition survey to study the requirement of clients and the extent of study required.

• Prepared the Road Layout using AutoCAD.
• Proposal for ramp accesses at different locations on Sheikh Zayed Street.

Conducted Reconnaissance and Detailed Topographic Survey for Realignment of 3 km road section near Karak, N-55 National Highway (Indus Highway) for NHA.
Conducted Road Condition Survey for Tarnol Fatehjang Jand Road Project for NHA.
Made Topographic Map for new Islamabad Airport Access roads.
Geometric Design:
Worked on the Geometric design of the following Roads Project; including Traffic Signs and Road Marking and Contract Documents:
a) Tarnol to Fatehjang road.
b) Fatehjang to Jand road.
c) Surab to Basima road.
d) Basima to Nag road.
e) Nag to Panjgur road.
f) Panjgur to Hoshab road.
g) Sibbi to Dhadar Section of N-65 road.
h) Kalat - Quetta - Chaman road.
i) Lahore - Sheikhupura - Faisalabad road.
2. Baluchistan Road Development Sector Project (BRDSP):-
Conducted GPS and Road Condition Survey for BRSDP (C&W) Projects ADB Assisted in Baluchistan for Geometric Design of Core and Rural access roads.
Geometric Design:
Worked on the Geometric design (Horizontal and Vertical Alignment) of the following Road Projects; including Retaining wall design, Traffic Signs and Road Marking and Contract documents:
a) Gandava - Kotra - PirChattal road.
b) Barake Shaza to Badini road.
c) Head Bagh to Faizabad Jamali road.
d) Osta Muahammad to Mirwah road.
e) Hairdin to Malguzar road.
f) Dureji - Lohi road.
g) Sibbi - Kohlu - Rakhni Road (section II, III ).

5. Kashmir Highway Authority and MMRSP Azad Jammu and Kashmir:-
• Planning and Scheduling the Working Progress for Under construction project
• Undertaking Daily weekly and monthly progress reports and updating them consequently.
• Scheduling for earth works and road works up to Footpath including (Sewerage, Water Supply, Construction of manholes, Transformer Foundations and Footpath).
• Conducting Site visits to check the progress onsite and as per planned progress and taking photographs for reporting.
• Discussing the progress of the site with each sector in charge and taking note of site issues causing the delays in the scheduled works.
• Adjusting the work schedule by taking into consideration the site issues after discussing with the Project manager.
• Undertaking three months look ahead schedule for the entire project.
• Making Daily Progress Reports, Monthly Progress Reports for AWHS and Head Office (HRL).
