Brief description of duties and responsibilities: - Develop the WHO CO strategy and three year work-plan for WASH activates in coordination with EHA, PHC and CSR departments and taking in to account the MoPH strategic plan, priorities and needs.
- Prepare proposals for the donors based on the country office strategy (including joint proposals with MoPH), and advocate with potential donors for resource mobilization.
- Provide technical support to MoPH, MoRRD and other WASH partners in defining the roles and responsibilities through a multi - partner formal agreement.
- Provide technical support to MoPH and MoRRD in building and maintain a water sources quality monitoring program, which would include chlorination activities.
- Advice the MoPH (in the name of WHO) in finalizing the protocol and training module for water quality testing during emergencies; ensure the protocol is approved by the MoPH technical committees and formally adopted by MoPH.
- Build the capacity of MoPH on water quality testing during emergencies through 3 TOTs and four sessions on water quality testing for all relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure water supply & consumable reagents well received and stored and dispatched for distribution
- Administer the WASH activities in the country.
- Travel to Afghanistan provinces to build the capacity of MOPH staff on WASH.
- Participate in all WASH meetings.
- Draft all the correspondences related to WASH.
- Prepare WASH reports.
- Assistant in preparing budget of WASH.
