Provide engineering support to District Engineers / Officers of Tehsil Municipal Administration, District Government Line Agencies, District Engineers and Consultants Engineers of ABAD.
Check and make recommendations for approval, scrutiny of the PC-1 forms of medium scale infrastructure schemes(MSIs) prepared by the districts. The MSIs included construction of school buildings, dispensaries and basic health units, link roads, rural electrification, water supply and sanitation schemes, irrigation, mini dams, rain water harvesting structures, lining of water courses, rural electrification etc. Check the designs, drawings, rectify the designs and cost estimates. The recommended schemes are to be presented in the district development committee (DDC) headed by the District Coordination Officer.
Represent SLBAP-ABAD in DDC and at other forums as and when desired by the project.
Monitor quality of infrastructure schemes and generate reports, review the design of schemes and make recommendations for course correction.
Monitor progress and quality of work, provide feed back to Advisor (Community Development), Project Director and the District Project Managers, Government Line Agencies.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, six monthly and annual progress reports.
Provide regular guidance and support to project facilitators (PFs) in grass roots village organization work, project cycle management during implementation of schemes as well as compliance with environmental and social safeguards. Train the staff in monitoring of quality of MSIs.

As Programme Manager of Physical Infrastructure and Water & Environmental Sanitation (PI&WES) Section, performed the follwing jobs;

Preparation of strategy, planning, approval, desigining, management and supervision of PI&WES projects.
Preparation, analysis and scrutiny of project proposals, execution and monitoring of projects.
Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports.
Identification, selection of consultants and contractors and outsourcing, contracting and administration of the contracted works.
Provision of technical backstopping support to Regional Engineers as well as Field Engineers

The PI&WES projects included rural infrastructure schemes of different types like construction of school buildings, dispensaries, link roads, culverts, causeways, bridges, drinking water supply, sanitation, surface drains, sewerage system, solid waste disposal, irrigation channels, Drip Irrigation, Water harvesting structures, mini-dams, micro hydro power projects, bio gas plants, solar energy systems.
Generally the projects are executed by SRSP through COs / CBOs / Networks, however in case of comparatively bigger projects, consultants and contractors are also involved.
Assignments Undertaken:
Undertaken PPAF-World Bank, DFID, Care International, CIDA, SDC, World Vision, LFL, Khushal Pakistan Fund (KPF-Go-Pakistan) funded CPIs.
Reconstructed houses and rehabilitated physical infrastructure schemes and means of liveli hoods in the earthquake hit areas of NWFP-Pakistan (Districts Mansehra, Battagram, Shangla, Kohistam and Abbottabad).
Worked as a member of UN Mission on assessment of damages of infrastructure due to the October 8, 2005, earth quake, in the affected areas of NWFP- Pakistan. Established one water quality testing laboratory at SRSP.

Worked as consultant of UNDP at NJVCDP, Muzafarabad, AJK. (This was an integrated rural development programme), in 1997, prepared feasibilities of two irrigation projects in Jhelum valley.
Worked as Consultant of World Bank and MSU in the capacity of Team Leader, in 1998. Evaluated PHED Punjab Water Supply and Sanitation Schemes, for six months. Undertook identification, involvement of community, selection of site, selection and development of water source, sequence of physical phasing of execution, designs of different components, status of schemes, generation of revenues, generation of employment, impact of schemes on environment, provision of backup support by the line department, operation and maintenance.
