Project Executive

Community based irrigation tank renovation for improving rain fed agricultural production of poor farmers. Renovating need based irrigation tanks, Constructing farm ponds for supplementing water for irrigation and to increase the farm income through fish rearing. Constructing check dams for increasing ground water potential. Renovating of drinking water during off rain season to the drinking water pond for the sustainability community. Conducting training to the progressive farmers to adopt new innovation technologies in agriculture like zero budget natural farming, SRI cultivation in paddy. Organising trainings and camps with local department. Introducing high yielding varieties of locally cultivated crops like paddy, Groundnut, Bajra, Sunflower and supporting the cultivation practices. Organizing the community based marketing societies for Milk, Paddy and Vegetable crops. Managing the block level Federation of Tank Farmers association, and Micro Finance Groups.

Watershed developments, development of irrigation structures, large irrigation tanks, construction of farm ponds, check dams, agricultural developments, farmers training, sustainable agricultural production methods.

Community Organizer

Irrigation tank rehabilitation through farming society. Organizing farming society, preparing estimates with the farming community and ensuring people like SRI in paddy crop etc. Guiding to SHG participation through cash/work contribution for the rehabilitation of the tank. Introducing water saving cultivation practices federation to improve their involvement in agriculture operations.

Training Associate

Conducting On and Off campus trainings on agriculture practices like crop cultivation, pest management, Irrigation practices to farmers. Front Line Demonstration for high yielding varieties of cereals, pulses and Oilseeds for cultivation, pest management, irrigation practices and to find the adoptability of the varieties in that location for high yield. On Farm Trials in farming operations like crop cultivation, pest management, soil salinity etc to find out the optimum solution to solve the operational problems. Conducting village training and camp in co-ordination with agricultural and vetenery departments to improve the knowledge of farmer on crop cultivation, special camp for animal disease control. Design and installation of Drip irrigation for orchard crops. Orchard maintenance etc. Implementing Watershed development scheme under NABARD aid at Puliyankudi, Tenkasi area.

Project Associate
Measuring the water flow of Periyar Main Canal (PMC), and its branch canals from Peranai regulator to XII BC, using current meter to estimate its seepage losses in the main and its branch canals. Measuring ground water level, infiltration rate in the command area of the PMC, for estimating the ground water storage, crop water consumption, infiltration losses etc for Irrigation water budgeting and scheduling of PMC in Madurai district.

Data Analyst
Collecting irrigation tank particular from PWD offices, and Socio economic particular of the ayacutdars from taluk offices of TamilNadu. Updating the hydraulic particular of the tank with memoir and local PWD offices data. Computerizing the standard data of the irrigation tanks of Public Works Department (10000 Nos) to bring the records of Tamilnadu PWD tanks in a single hand through TIS software.

Project Engineer
Wasteland developments works for orchard plantations like Mango, Tamarind, Guava, and Pomo etc. which consists of preliminary works like Topo survey, Ground water survey for Well yield logging using resistivity meter, Bore well drill monitoring for pump selection and installation etc, Civil works like Farm house construction, Sub surface tank construction for water storage. Farm machineries like Tractors, Power tillers, Diesel Gensets (20KVA)installation, maintenance, etc and Drip and Sprinkler irrigation system design, installation and maintenance.
