I work closely with the Executive Director and the Group Managing Director since the establishment of the division in 2008, and through managing a portfolio of businesses the division has grown in profit from RM 2.5 million a year to RM 5.2 million by December 2009. My responsibilities ranging from business and operations turnaround, new market development, technical and engineering overview and market research and analysis. I also establish and maintain working relationships with principals, and develop value propositions to prime customers.

On a yearly basis, I coordinate with the Executive Directors to work on the management and yearly strategic plans. This includes budget, strategic planning, and manpower planning. Routinely, I monitor and analyze monthly financial performance of all business units under Drilling, Production and Marine department to ensure achievement of yearly budget.

Key Accomplishments:
• Successfully turnaround the department’s profitability and implementation of key initiatives to enhance the product support, organization and people’s competency, and to improve business processes; re-strategizing.
• Successfully secured the first “Rigless” well plug and abandonment project in Malaysia with Talisman Malaysia Ltd. (TML) contract value up to RM 14 million.
• Effectively lead intra teams of marketing, sales, product support and technical managers in facilitating a new product introduction for new application in “rigless” activity.
• Successfully complete the Decommissioning of Platform training for Petronas Carigali Team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and in Houston TX, USA with hands on cutting tools and marine vessel/barge experience.

Assistant Project Manager at Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn. Bhd.

I had specific technical job functions as mentioned above. I was involved in securing a jack up rig contract worth up to RM 400 million. This starts from bidding process to the Terms and Conditions negotiation meetings until we signed the contract. Then, I was assigned to be the assistant project manager and Tanjung’s representative at site to oversee the refurbishment project in MMHE shipyard, Pasir Gudang, Johor. This project allowed me to handle all planning, engineering, production and installation aspects for jack up drilling rig and refurbishment. It also allowed me to have hands on training on the equipments on the drilling rig.

While in MMHE, I was also assigned to be the mediator for client and contractor as there were 5 parties involve in the project, which is Petronas as the end client, Murphy as the client, MMHE as the contractor, Hercules as the principle and Tanjung as the contract holder.

Key Accomplishments:
• Successfully deliver the refurbish drilling rig to start working for Murphy Oil Company in block SK309, offshore Bintulu, Sarawak.
• Successfully conducted a full Engineering, Fabrication, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning of all equipment and machinery of drilling jack up rig Hercules 208.
• Successfully completed major steel replacement for the hull of jack up rig Hercules 208.

Head of Project and Sales/Lead Project Engineer at Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn. Bhd.

I was heavily involved to oversee all the engineering data, marketing and sales requirement for various projects, working closely with the Executive Director and the Group Managing Director for all commercial tender submission. Besides that, I was also developing value proposals and presentations to potential clients. Other job description is Lead Project Engineer for special project, which is the EPCIC of Ledang Anoa Platform (Tarpon System) for Petronas Carigali.

I had to liaise with our principle’s engineer in the USA to intergrades the engineering data from Client’s design engineering (Runhill-Worley) together with Petronas’s resident engineers. Then, I had to supervise all subcontractors at site and do acceptance test together with client representative for all of the structures and platform equipment.


Key Accomplishments:
• Effectively lead intra teams of marketing, sales, product support and technical managers in facilitating a Tanjung’s new fleet of vessels to secure long term contracts.
• Successfully deliver the EPCIC Ledang-Anoa Platform (Tarpon System) to Petronas Carigali ahead of schedule. The platform becomes Petronas Carigali’s fastest EPCIC project to date.

Project Engineer at Tanjung Offshore Services Sdn. Bhd.

I was assigned to be the Owner’s Representative for Tanjung’s first Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) in Muhibbah Marine and Engineering Shipyard in Port Klang. My responsibilities were to do inspection and testing on the hull & machinery of the vessel during construction and commissioning. I had to work closely with the regulatory bodies such as ABS and the Naval architect/designer of the vessel together with the shipyard personnel. At the same time, I also have to look closely into the safety issues during construction.

After the delivery of the vessel, I was appointed as the project engineer for Tanjung’s Application Engineering Section to manage and supervise projects during engineering, assembly, testing, delivery, installation and commissioning of various types of valves for clients such as Murphy Oil, Talisman New Energy and Petronas Carigali.

Key Accomplishments:.
• Successfully deliver Tanjung’s first Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) MV Tanjung Manis, 2 months ahead of schedule.
