Act as a business partner to the Chief Executive Officer, business lines and functions. Oversee and direct financial control, tax management, risk management and management reporting and analysis functions. Establish financial policies in coordination with the regional function and ensures adherence to internal and external policies, procedures and regulations. Provide guidance and expertise which serves to contribute to effective decision-making, to achieve financial goals as set in a sustainable and compliant manner.
In line with the strategy of the HSBC Group to exploit its capital in the most effective manner by focusing on businesses best placed to capture commercial and capital flows thereby maximising returns for investors, the Group decided to sell its operations in Jordan.
With the high dependency on the Finance function, I led the finance team to ensure that the whole process is completed efficiently and successfully.

Reporting to the Managing Director and the Country Chief Financial Officer. Responsible for running the finance function of the securities services in Egypt. Oversee and directs financial control, tax management, risk management and management reporting and analysis functions. Ensure adherence to the local regulations and internal policies. Provide market data analysis and expertise which contribute to effective decision-making.

Responsible for business and strategic planning, market study and business performance analysis. Assess the financial feasibility of new branches to be opened and products to be offered. Overlook the ALM function and provide support to exploit the capital in the most effective manner focusing on businesses and products best placed to maximise returns. Lead the financial reporting team responsible for the Group reporting on IFRS basis. Oversee and direct the regulatory reporting to the local regulator according to Basel 1 rules and to the Group according to Basel 2.
