Job Description:
1. Co-Chairman in writing self survey reports needed for ABET & QAAET accreditation.
2. Ensure that the standard curriculum and syllabi are implemented.
3. Make recommendations as to physical facilities, faculty line-up, and methods of instruction to ensure the delivery of quality education to the students.
4. Coordinate with the Dean in the teaching assignments and faculty loading.
5. Assist the Dean in monitoring the attendance of the area’s faculty members in their classes, meetings, committee activities, faculty seminars and training, and other school activities.
6. Assist the Dean in observing and evaluating the teaching performance of the area’s faculty members.
7. Mentor the area’s faculty members and encourage them to pursue graduate studies, conduct research, and produce research publications, inventions and creative works.
8. Review and validate the construction of examinations and quizzes as well as the regular posting and submission of grades by the area’s faculty members.
9. Take care of the dissemination of information, policies and guidelines among the area’s faculty members and to ensure their compliance with the approved curricula, syllabi, policies and guidelines.
10. Assist the Dean and other school officials in marketing and in recruiting students.
11. Mentor and advice students during enrolment attend to their problems and complaints and look after their academic progress.
12. Oversee the planning and implementation of the area’s major students in their co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
13. Monitor and record withdrawals from the area’s courses, the shifting from or to the area, and the area’s enrollment from term to term.
14. Report inadequacies and problems in the classroom and laboratory facilities.
15. Submit regular reports and timely advice to the Dean on the condition, problems and needs of the area.
