Duties and responsibilities
* Full structural design for buildings (computing loads, analyzing, designing as per ACI or BS 8110 standards and detailing, using a variety of accepted foundations (piles, raft, strip, isolated) and slabs (flat, solid, ribbed) in Abu Dhabi
* Follow up on the designed projects with the Municipality until final approval
* Uploading and managing drawings and documents within the municipality system
* Project coordination and liaising with site engineers and contractors
* Site inspection of the project implementation wherever needed
* Preparing consultant BOQ for designed projects
* Preparing contractor, consultant (design, supervision) bank payments
* Handling correspondence (Arabic, English) for the municipality, owner and bank
* Coordinating general project operations (post-preliminary design)

* Dakar-Senegal (OLAM Senegal "wheat mill and Silos")
The project is a six stories steel structure mill building, five steel wheat silos, office building, warehouse, workshop, intake pit, weight bridge and other service buildings.
*My duties in the design phase were :
- review and assessment of geotechnical surveys and site investigations reports.
-assess the structural challenges and its effect on the architectural design and the project budget as the site had a lot of swelling clays that has to be replaced or dealt with carefully.
-prepare a full structural design for the concrete buildings in the project and design a raft foundation that can transfer the reactions transmitted from the steel silos and mill building to the ground safely.
-Design the tunnels under silos and mill building
-Concrete gutter system for storm water
-Retaining Walls, Pitched roofs, Wight Bridge, tower crane foundations.
*My duties during the construction phase(between Dakar and Abudhabi):
-review and approve the contractor’s shop drawings before submitting it to
the local consultant in Senegal.
- Evaluate and approve sub-contractors’ material submittal
prior to delivery of materials at site.
- Review and approve the sub-contractor’s Method Statement
prior to commence work activity.
- Witness the laboratory tests and evaluate the used materials .
- conducting “spot test” where it is necessary on site for work that indicate non-compliance.
- Review the Contractors technical proposals submitted.
