CLINICAL DUTIES

1. Completes assigned responsibilities within established hospital, divisional and unit specific guidelines, policies and procedures, standards, protocols, etc.
 Manages the learning and development activities involved in the clinical education program portfolio to ensure learning outcomes are aligned with organizational and corporate directions and statutory guidelines.
 Actively participates in the development, implementation and evaluation of hospital wide and unite-based orientation and skills competency assessments.
 Maintains visibility (70% clinical presence) with staff/ patients on areas of responsibility.
 Evaluates and instructs staff in the performance of direct guest (patient) care and clinical documentation.
 Assists in planning, implementing and evaluating skill development programs for staff in coordination with Director of Nursing / Nurse Manager and Nursing Education Department.
 Demonstrates effective communication and collaboration skills
 Develop, manage, and review in conjunction with the Director of Nursing the objectives, plans, budgets, and actions required to deliver relevant quality learning.
 Coordinates formal and informal learning opportunities that are outcomes focused.
 Perform other job related duties within his/her ability as required and as instructed.
 Assesses learning need of staff and develops learning plans in conjunction with the Director of Nursing and Nurse Manager.
 Oversees employee orientation in conjunction with preceptor and Nurse Manager.
 Maintains documentation related to staff developmental needs and action plans.
 Refers staff performance concerns to Nurse Managers.
 Acts as a resource to staff for patient care related skills and knowledge.
 Acts as a program manager responsible for the overall process of delivery and outcomes of the nursing education and orientation program and mandatory competencies.
 Assumes leadership role in quality improvement activities in clinical area (s).


Clinical Nurse Supervisor

 Guides patient care activities to be within established hospital, divisional and unit specific guidelines, policies and procedures, standards and protocols.
 Guides patient placement according to patient acuity, nursing skills and resources availability.
 Maintains high visibility (100% clinical presence) with staff/patients on area(s) of responsibility.
 Takes direct and appropriate action in urgent and emergency situations.
 Demonstrates effective communication and collaboration skills when interacting with patients/families, other health care team members and members of other departments.
 Anticipates and acts to maintain a safe environment.
 Assesses the standard of care delivered on units and the staff's clinical knowledge and skills.
 Takes immediate corrective action if required and reports finding to nurse managers in timely manner.

Charge Nurse - CCU/ICU/CTVS

 Determines patient care assignments based on nursing skill levels and patient needs
 Ensures that procedures, standard of care and practice and regulations are adhered
 Monitors and evaluates patient care through direct rounds and consultation
o Monitors cardiac and physical status of patients under care
o Prepares and monitor patient pre and post open heart surgery, pre CAG and PTCA, and other diagnostic tests such as TEE, ETT, Cardio version, Dobutamine Stress Echo, 24 hours Holter ECG
o Monitored patient in RR for post CABG, MVR, AVR, ASD and VSD
o Monitored patient post RR of patient who undergone CABG, MVR, AVR, ASD and VSD
 Supervise staffs including unit assistants
 Identifies staffing needs and levels, in coordination with the Nurse Staffing Office
 Responsible for all staffs and newcomers
 Reports discrepancy and ensured all discrepancies are solved.
 Develops, supports and improves quality assurance program
