Design Engineering:
 Preparation of Scope of Works, Information to Bid (ITB) document, Design proposal documents used for
awarding Engineering Contract in line with SABIC Standards.
 Review the Design drawings, Engineering philosophy and BOQ prepared by Design Consultant from
Conceptual stage to Issue for Construction (IFC) at different stages \[ Royal Commission : 10%, 30%, 60%,
90%, 100% and IFC\] ensuring its optimization and full compliance with the local regulations and
coordinate with RC to get the Calculations, Design Reports and Drawings Approved.
 Ensure Design drawings, Project specifications (Construction and Material) for HVAC, Plumbing design
and other mechanical field mainly infrastructure, building utilities etc. are in accordance with SABIC
standards, international engineering standards and codes of practice, standards of relevant Authorities
having Jurisdiction \[Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RC), MARAFIQ and specifications\] and other
international standards \[ASHRAE, DW142/144, SMACNA, CIBSE, BS, UPC, SBC, NWC, NFPA, SASO, ASME,
AWWA, ASPE, ANSI etc.\]
Engineering support during Detail Engineering and Construction:
 Review and Approve Shop drawings (SD), Installation drawings and Request for Information (RFI).
 Approve any field design changes while implementing Best practices in accordance with Project
Standards and specifications. Ensuring Redline mark-up drawings are created for the changes.
 Review Engineering/Material submittal, Vendor approvals, RFI/ITP/Method Statement, mechanical
calculations, technical specifications etc. for compliance with contract documents.
 Monitor Construction implementation of IFC/Shop drawings with coordination among engineers of all
disciplines and any other parties if required, for best implementation and installation of services.
 Coordinate and facilitate the communication and interaction amongst the different concerned
departments (project stake holders) and Main/sub-contractors as delegated by the Project Manager.
 Ensuring quality of material and installation of work is in accordance with project. Verify implementation
of specifications with relevant international standards & practices/local regulations.
 Ensure Design implementation in case of Plumbing works by Pressure Testing of Potable and Fire
Network, Irrigation Network and Sanitary Force Main Line. Gravity Testing of Sanitary Network and
Storm Water Network. Similarly Tests conducted for HVAC and Fire-fighting systems.
 Review site progress reports, site surveys, schedules & update weekly reports etc. Approving Contractor
Invoice after ensuring the work completion on site in coordination with other Team members.
 Review Testing and commissioning reports, done in coordination with vendor/manufacturer.
 Approve/Review As-Built drawings before project close-out for handing over the site.
 Review Operation and Maintenance Manuals for the Equipment. Review Project acceptance procedures
and participate in contract close out.
Construction Supervision/Assurance:
 Constructability Reviews and Workshops conducted with various stakeholders.
 Ensuring that the quality of installation works are in accordance with the acceptance criteria,
specifications, approved materials and methods of installation approved for the project.
 Proactive coordination with civil contractor / subcontractors for effective execution of works.
 Coordinate Safety and Quality aspects taken care during execution.
 Reviewing availability of all requirements with respect to materials, plant and tools and manpower or
any other items whatsoever required for timely/safe execution of respective services/activities.
 Reviewing sequence of work to ensure safe plan for moving equipment at locations as per drawings.
 Supervision and assurance of compliance to project requirements, shop drawings and details for
ensuring integrity, sustainability during and after Execution.
 Ensuring Contractor is following the LEED requirements for various credit gains.
