QHSE and Project Manager at Eastern United Petroleum Services/Gofsco
  • Kuwait - Al Ahmadi
  • March 2004 to February 2009

QHSE Management
Eastern united petroleum services was established in 2004 to provide state-of-the art technologies required to support the upstream oil and gas sector in its vast potentials in the extraction of hydrocarbon, by providing wireline logging, well testing (in addition to slickline services, well head maintenance, waste oil recovery, chemical distribution, and other services through its GOFSCO affiliate).

Recruited by EUPS and its affiliate GOFSCO to establish and manage the QHSE department. This involved developing and implementing a safety MS system (ISO9001:2008 and OHAS 18001:2007), that integrated and aligned both companies strategic operational processes and systems in order to comply with British standards and OHSA best practices for the oil and gas sector.
Strategic
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive QHSE management system that embraced international Oil and gas safety best practices as a prerequisite to qualify and perform services and participate in for KOC tender
2. Identify and anticipate risks to company, client and stakeholders by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions and render opinions on risk reduction and mitigation procedures.

Project Management
Tasked with taking over an under-performing waste oil recovery project for KOC. In my period as project Manager I developed the business from 4 rental tankers to 12 owned, grossing $ 105Mil income in my first year of operation against an operating cost of approximately USD 630K. Subsequently, based on the enhanced output performance of the recovery project, KOC awarded GOFSCO the opportunity to establish and manage a chemical distribution facility, with a scope of equipping the facility with cross loading and pumping capabilities for various Emulsifier and Descaler chemicals, to be delivered on a regular basis to various gathering centers, through the use of two modified vacuum tankers of my design, incorporating external Varisco chemical pumps integrated into its air reservoirs. The additional contract generated USD 42K per month at an operating cost of approximately Usd K17000.
