I began as an Data Conversion Operator in 1995 where I typed in addresses that could not be read by machine. In 1999 I became a Human Resources Specialist where I completed all paperwork and data entry to hire employees which included monitoring and giving exams, proofreading applications for completeness, SLED and employment checks, fingerprinting, new employee orientation, explanation of benefits, etc. For existing employees, I helped with the completion of paperwork and the data entry for change of/in benefits (life, health, TSP, FSA, retirement, etc), military buy backs, taxes, changes in jobs, terminations and resignations. I prepared job postings and award notices --keeping up with the current contract of individual work classes to ensure that I complied with each contract's initiatives. With the centralization of the Postal Service’s Human Resources Center in 2004, I chose to go back to a clerk job where I prepare mail and packages for distribution. I have also worked as a window clerk, assisting customers with provided Postal services.
