Devising cost effective blends / recipes of tobacco stock as per company brand’s requirement not only ensuring smoke and physical attributes of packed product but at the same time managing overall tobacco stock.
To train field staff and farming community on various aspects of crop husbandry and tobacco grading.
Managing export of various tobacco styles and types to various OpCos.
To update top team on stock duration both domestic and imported on monthly basis.
Looking after Global Leaf Procurement (GLP) at OpCo Level.
Before joining blending function I was actively involved in research trails, extension work and tobacco buying and classification in leaf area and had close ties with farming community, government bodies and service providing companies.
To arrange tobacco plantation in my area as per Industry's requirements, farmer’s education on advanced agronomic practices & purchases as per volume, quality & prices targets.
Rationalizing tobacco crop size of my area accordingly to Industry's requirements.
Educating farmers on improved crop production practices for improvement in crop chemistry as per domestic and export requirements.
Coordinating Research Department in conducting and monitoring/evaluation of research trials.
Educating and motivating field staff for implementation of best practices for quality improvement and farmer's cost reduction.
Contemplating seedbed, plantation and production surveys of my area.
Ensuring availability of recommended crop inputs to growers e.g. seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and suckericides etc. through Leaf Technology Section and by arranging bank loans.
Conducting purchases of targeted volumes as per grade intake and quality specs at given prices and their safe keeping and shipment.
Monitoring competition activities in my area.
Maintaining PR with Local PTB officials, district administration, local government representatives, governor inspection team, bank managers of national and commercial banks, contractors, competitors, agrochemical and tobacco dealers for smooth operation.
Preparing and monitoring CAPEX & Revenue Budgets of my depot.
Responsible for implementation of ISO 9001, 14001, SA 8000 and MRP II standards as well as BAT - EHS guidelines in my area of work and responsibility.
