Qatar Petrochemical Company Ltd. (QAPCO) is one of the leading producers of ethylene and low-density polyethylene (LDPE) in the Middle East Region.

Primary Purpose of the Job;
• To coordinate all issues related to the Health, Safety, Environment & Quality management systems and their implementation in Polyolefins department.

Duties and responsibilities;
• Responsible for implementation of HSE & Q management systems requirements in the department through close liaison with hierarchy of the different sections within the assigned Department and with Safety & Environmental Department.
• Responsible for generating and updating all the specific documentation for the sections of the assigned department, so as to fulfill the HSEQ management systems requirements.
• Responsible for increasing HSEQ management system awareness amongst the staff of the assigned department and ensuring that all the personnel are sufficiently trained to use the system.
• Arrange and conduct self audits periodically in different sections of Polyolefins department to identify deficiencies in safety and environmental protection aspect of various activities and ensure corrective action is taken by the section hierarchy
• Work as the focal point during Management System Audits (Internal / External) in the assigned department and responsible for reviewing the findings and implementation of recommendations.
• Involve in risk assessment of plant changes, setting-up of SMPs & EMPs, identifying Environmental Aspects & Impacts etc. Participates in the analysis of Accident / Incident / Near Miss Reports, Claims, Non-Conformities… etc.
• Collect feedback from staff members of the team regarding issues concerning HSEQ management systems, to improve and update the system documentation.
• Perform other similar or related duties assigned by the Manager.
• Ensure that the work carried out by self and others complies with the best.

Head of Safety & Health section at Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company - Echem

Duties and responsibilities,
• Participate in development, implementation and follow up on Echem’s Health, Safety and Environmental Management System (Echem -HSE-MS) and any other required safety standards.
• Assist in preparing and executing of safety and/or environmental audit programs.
• Share in providing safe system of work and safe workplace for all employees in Echem through conducting orientations, periodical inspections, hazard identification, risk assessment, safety instructions and analysis of safety programs effectiveness.
• Inspect workplaces in Echem and its affiliated companies to investigate whether they comply with the Egyptian laws and employer policies.
• Consolidate, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to all safety aspects at Echem and its affiliated companies (such as LTIF, LTOIF, and HVAF….etc).
• Provide suggestions and recommendations required to improve the performance of health, safety and environment in Echem and its affiliated companies.

Safety Specialist at Egyptian Petrochemicals Company

‎EPC established in 1981 to produce polyvinyl chloride (PVC). It is a public sector company totally owned by the Egyptian General petroleum Corporation (EGPC).

Duties and responsibilities,
• Inspect workplace environment, equipment, and practices in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations to prevent company assets from being damaged or defected.
• Identify all hazardous conditions in the workplaces, assess risks, predict any future hazards with the use of historical data then creating and implementing a plan that will eliminate, reduce, isolate, or control the hazards.
• Follow up implementation of Permit to Work System (PTW); monitor use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and provide safety awareness for all employees.
• Investigate all accidents, injuries, near misses, and prepare reports in order to determine root causes and required recommend actions to prevent further occurrences.
