As head of Human Resources, my main responsibility is to set up the HR department from scratch and leading, driving, and implementing HR Policies & Processes, HR Strategies, & HR Systems. I am also leading a team of HR and oversee the full spectrum of Talent Management & Organizational Development (Recruitment, Compensation & Benefits, Performance Management, Human Resource Management System, Payroll, and Training & Development).

Talent Management & Organizational Development
• I have been working with Vice Chancellor & Senior Management (Deans, Professors, Registrar, & departmental heads) on the Talent Management Plan for the next 5 years.
• Identifying the workforce requirements for 2014-15 and currently working on Organizational Development Plan.
• Coordinating with Finance department and have developed the budget for 2013-14 (fiscal year).
• Updating details of actual head count and analyze the budgeted vacant position and share the finding with Vice Chancellor & senior management on regular basis.

Recruitment & Selection
Leading the complete recruitment process from advertising the vacant position to taking candidate onboard (end to end recruitment cycle), which includes announcement of vacant positions at different social medias & newspapers, screening the CVs/Resumes, taking interviews, coordinating with end user department, making & negotiating offer with final candidates, coordinating for joining formalities, checking past employment & personal references, verifying educational documents, and organizing and conducting the Orientation (Induction) program.


Compensation & Benefits
• Worked with senior management and revised the compensation package of faculties of Basic Health Science departments of Ziauddin Medical College (core resource of the Ziauddin University).
• Worked with the senior management and analyzed the compensation package of all employees (faculties & staffs) and revised salaries of:
o College of Biomedical & Engineering
o College of Physical Therapy
o College of Speech Language & Hearing Sciences
o College of Pharmacy
o Also working on remuneration package with Deans/Principals of other colleges.
• I have also proposed & revised the University’s minimum salary according to Government’s announced minimum wage.
• I have also designed the format of Job description which has been approved by the senior management and have also started making JDs of all employees (department wise). So far 30% of JDs have been prepared & finalized.
• Successfully completed the annual increment cycle and revised salaries in January 2014.
• Also manage the end to end Payroll activity.
Performance Management
I have introduced the performance management system (PMS) and have been gathering the Objectives/Goals setting forms from different colleges of Ziauddin University. Deadline to set individual goal is March 2014 and from this year onwards increment will be performance based.

HRMS
We are planning to build an in-house ERP (Human Resource Management System) for Ziauddin University & Hospital. We have hired a team of Oracle developer and will develop Oracle based HRMS. I will be working as functional lead for HRMS.

Manager, HR Services at Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC)

• Ensure timely deliverables of the organization human resource services and supervise & lead the activities such as benefits administration, renewal of contracts, confirmations, severances & retirements, final settlements, transfers and postings, & records keeping etc.

Human Resource Management System (PeopleSoft)

Performance Management
• Lead company-wide annual performance appraisal (APA) campaign.
• Provide guidance and support to employees, supervisors (N) and departmental head (N+1) for APA activity.
