Project description:
“Artistic installation of 2, 500 white spheres (human wishes) on water in communion with lighting effect all around the bay and fireworks”

The Marina Bay New Year’s Eve Countdown 2005 - A Wish for a Better Tomorrow is a celebration marking a new tradition that represents the collective hopes and dreams of all Singaporeans. It was an opportunity for Singaporeans to reflect on the year past, contemplate the year ahead and to come together to make a wish for our families, friends and loved ones. The waters of Marina Bay came alive with the play of lights as these thousands of wishes (white spheres) set the bay aglow against the spectacular backdrop of the city skyline. And at midnight, the night sky was turning into a canvas of colours with a breathtaking Fireworks display and united as one, we welcome the New Year and the promise of a better tomorrow.
