1. Working as a Mechanical Quality control & Inspection Engineer (Structure).
2. Ensuring quality at all stages of production and job is done as per required ONGC specification, approved QC plan, procedures for a required quality finished product.
3. TC reviewing & Inspection of raw and standard material i.e. Plates, Pipes, beams, tubular, etc. to ensure compliance to codes and client specifications.
4. Conducting fit up inspection of joints (bevel angle, root gap, root face, alignment, verticality, straightness, etc.) & visual inspection of welds (weld profile, throat size, reinforcement, leg length, defects on surface, etc.) & witnessing/reviewing WPS/PQR & WPQR.
5. Monitoring, Guiding & Witnessing NDT (UT, MT, RT, PT) on weld joints including verification of calibration records of NDT equipments & maintaining NDT records on file.
6. Preparation of inspection reports such as material identification reports, fit up reports, weld visual reports, in process & final dimension reports, NDT reports, etc.)
7. Proper documentation of inspection records for submission to clients and future reference
8. Surveillance of all quality work related to the project.
9. Awareness of ASME, API, AWS code like API-RP-2A, 2B, ASME Sec-IX, AWS D1.1, etc.
10. Liaison with the TPI, CA, project execution, NDT team on quality related issues.
11. Designing, generating various management information reports.
12. Conducting Tool box talks.
13. Reporting to Sr. QC & I Engineer.
• Review of AFC & Isometric Drawings
• Check that approval of all necessary documentation has been obtained
• Co-ordination with Client & NDT Department.
• Inspection of inward material with regards to the actual traceability against manufacturer
Test certificate & project specification
• Prepare Daily Inspection Reports
• Inspection of Materials before Fit up
• Fit up and alignment Inspection, Welding Inspection before, during and after welding
• Co ordination with Client inspector for daily welding activities and for stage inspection
• Implementation of stage wise inspection As per Qc plan of piping and structure : Like Material Identification, Fit up, Weld visual, NDT Clearance, Dimension &Level Check, Mechanical Clearance, Hydro test Blasting & painting & box up.
• Surveillance of daily welding & welding consumables
• Monitoring the NDT offer as per Specifications and maintaining the register
• Monitor pre and post weld heat treatment, where specified
• Interpret/ Review NDT Reports and maintain all related file and records
• Monitoring weekly & monthly welder’s performance
• Punch list and Check list Clearing
• Prepare the As-Built marked up drawing
• Monitoring and controlling team work
• Implementation of quality system at the site as per QAP
• Co-ordinating with Third party Inspection agencies like BVIS, VELOSI, GLIS, ABS
• Final Handover Pack submission as per Client Specified Requirements.
