From November 2019 to January 2023, worked for Area Team and in addition supported Traffic & Road Safety Team of PWA Design Division. Since February 2023, have been working for Traffic & Road Safety Team of PWA Design Division.
Responsible to manage various full and partial roads and infrastructures in-house and General Engineering Consultancy (GEC) projects, GEC consultant’s works and PWA Design Division team (review / design) works to complete various designs projects following Agreements / Contracts.
A full infrastructure design project includes concept, preliminary and detailed design stages and all of those design stages include design of roads / highway (signs & markings; directional signs, traffic signal; ITS, structures, school zone, road pavement, etc.), utilities (street light, landscape, electricity, water, telecom, etc.) and drainage systems (SW, FS & TSE) designs. Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA/TAR), Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Environmental and Sustainable Report, Road safety Audit (RSA), Departure from Standards, Risk Assessment / Mitigation Report, Geotechnical Investigation (GI), Stakeholders Approval / Report, Construction Documents, IFC Drawings, Value Engineering, Commercial Report / Cost Estimation, Primavera Schedule, Building Information Modeling (BIM), etc. are included in all full infrastructure design projects which are required to be reviewed and / or approved as PM of the projects on behalf of the Engineer.
Regular tasks include management of projects teams and project works; monitor projects progress for on time completion; coordination, communication and management various stakeholders; arrange various meetings; review and approval various design works; response to designer’s query; response to consultant’s clams (cost variation, time variation, etc.); verify and certify invoices, etc. Other responsibilities are to manage QDRS system to review and approve (stakeholder’s approval) various design works in Qatar, to support specific projects (like FIFA 2022 related traffic operation & management and transportation planning projects, Expo 2023 project, etc.), review safety and traffic related pre-qualification documents following BS EN 1317, MASH - AASHTO, NCHRP - Report 350, etc. Completed full infrastructure projects are DW094 (120 HA Area; Cost 356 mil); DW095 (850 HA Area; Cost 233 mil); CP832, EDS1696, Design and Built of Bus Stop Shelter and associated Infrastructure project, etc.
Main responsibilities were to manage various roads / highways, transportation and infrastructure engineering projects and manage a big design team for on time completion of various projects within allocated budget ensuring quality and quantity of all design works.
Regular tasks were to assign tasks to team members, monitor team works, monitor project progress, give decision on design works, organize various meetings and prepare minutes of meetings, manage various stakeholders, identify risks and manage risks, communicate and coordinate with clients and approving authorities for various approvals, make presentations, carry out various design and report writing works, etc.
Projects tasks were included design of roads, highways, roundabouts, intersections, road markings, traffic signs, traffic signal, drainage systems, road pavements, traffic diversion plan (TDP); prepare design / construction drawings, construction documents, various reports, specification, BOQ; etc. Other responsibilities were to monitor traffic survey works, prepare technical proposal, manage project data, evaluate team performance, manage lesson learns, project cost estimation, etc.
Completed projects were are around 200 which include various projects such as roadway design, Temporary Traffic Management (TTM), storm water drainage design, flood assessment, road safety audit (RSA), school zone design, industrial area design, limited and full Traffic Impact Study (including transportation planning & modeling; traffic data collection and analyze; trip generation estimation & trip distribution; parking area analysis; access management; queue analysis, etc.); 3D clash detection in Building Information Modeling (BIM) using Navisworks & Revit; etc..
Working under the combined Design Division of SMEC Ltd. Australia and ACE Consultants Ltd. Bangladesh. Tasks are to carry out geometric design following AASHTO, Austroads & RHD manual, road side drainage design, road marking & traffic signaling design; manage survey data; mestimate quantities of various materials including BOQ preparation; prepare reports; etc. The assigned projects are as follows :
a) Feasibility Study project for Cosntruction of Tunnel from Bir-Shrestra Shaheed Jahangir Gate to Agargaon Rokeya Sharani from April 2012 to till now in association with SMEC ltd, COWI Denmark and ACE Ltd. Tasks are to prepare various tunnel layout plans, prepare geometric design of Tunnel Alignments, connecting roads and roundabout, etc.
b) Chittagong City Outer Ring Road Project, from November, 2011 to till now, responsible for geometric design of 40 km roadway with roundabout following AASHTO, Austroads & RHD manual, traffic signaling and line marking design, calculation of quantities, etc.
c) Feasibility Study project for Construction of Railway cum Road Bridge (Extradoesd) across River Karnaphuly at Kalurghat point, 2 month intermittent work from January to February 2012, responsible for survey work management and geometric design of complex approach road and rail embankment for four lane road cum rail bridge.
d) Design and Partial Supervision of Conversion of MG Railway bridges into DG/BG bridges on west jone of Bangladesh Railway, responsible for survey work management and data collection for 146 nos rail structures, geometric design of rail diversion, prepare construction drawing, coordinate with Structural Engineers etc.
e) Beautification of Bangabandhu Bridge (Jamuna Bridge) from September 2010 to Apr 2011, responsible for road geometry, traffic signaling and line marking designing, survey work management, quantity estimation, BOQ preparation technical specification for widening of approximately 30 km approach road, etc.
Worked as a Design Engineer under “Padma Multipurpose Bridge Design Project” founded by World Bank, ADB, IDB, etc, executing by BBA and lead by MAUNSEL | AECOM Ltd, Newzealand in association with NHC Ltd, Netherland, SMEC Ltd, and ACE Consultants Ltd. Main responsibilities were to carry out various types of tasks related to approximately 12 km approach road and 14 km service road design works for approximately 6.15 km long Padma Bridge. Tasks were to prepare survey specification; monitor survey work; fix up geometric design criteria following AASHTO, AUSTROADS & RHD Specification; prepare geometric design of access road and service road using Auto CAD, prepare construction drawing; prepare various reports (design criteria report, design report); etc. Full responsibilities were to design and prepare drawing for road marking, signaling & storm drainage work and also to prepare BOQ by estimating all quantities of road works.
Worked for “Emergency Disaster Damage Rehabilitation Project (EDDRP)” financed by ADB in Netrokona District, executed by RHD lead by SMEC Ltd. in association with ACE Consultants Ltd. Responsibilities were to maintain quality and quantity of 35 km road re-construction work and one, 2 storied office building; monitor and supervise everyday work by field measurements and field & laboratory tests; guide contractor’s engineers; assign daily work for lab and survey team; attain monthly meeting; prepare weekly and monthly progress report, environmental report, etc; monitor safety work followed by contractor during construction; solve construction problems; verify and certify contractor’s invoices; etc.
Worked for “Bangladesh Railway Sector Improvement Project (BRSIP)” financed by ADB, executed by BR and lead by SMEC Ltd. in association with Balaji Railroad system Ltd, India’ and ACE Consultants Ltd. Main responsibilities were to collect data and manage data to design Bogra-Jamtoil (75 km) and Tongi-Bhairab Bazar (64 km) railway link. Tasks were to prepare Topographical Survey Specification; monitor survey work; analyze Hydrological and Topographical survey data to fix up various hydraulic parameters for embankment and drainage structure; carry out geometric design using Bentley InRail software; calculate quantity of rail embankment materials; prepare BOQ, etc.
Worked for the road construction component of “Post Flood Recovery Assistance Program” under “Rural Transport Improvement Project” in Moulovibazar district, executed by LGED, financed by World Bank, lead by SMEC ltd, and ACE Consultants Ltd. As a district in charge, responsibilities were to supervise and monitor reconstruction of several upazila-roads within the district; Tasks were to achieve quantities of various road works by taking field measurement; qualities by field and laboratory tests of all construction materials and works; manage survey and lab team and assign and monitor their duty; monitor and supervise safety work during construction; attain regular meeting; prepare progress report & environmental report; verify and certify contractors invoices; etc.
Worked under “Road Maintenance and Improvement Project” (CIC Contract no 1) financed by ADB, executed by RHD and Lead by CES Ltd, India in association with B & R Services Ltd. (Australia) and DDC Ltd. Main responsibility was to maintain quality of Chandina, Comilla and Feni existing bypass road overlay and widening work (52 km), construction of Marikhali and Vatichaar bridges (254 m total) and construction of 2 RHD office buildings. Tasks were to give approval of construction materials and works by various laboratory test; fix up job mix proportions for various components of road works and all RCC works including bridge construction materials; assign and monitor lab team work; monitor safety work; prepare progress report; attain regular meeting; etc.
Worked for “Road Condition Assessment Work Program”. The project was executed by RHD and carried out by DDC Ltd. Responsibility was to collect traffic data by traffic survey work of various roads within various districts. Tasks were to analyze road to fix up appropriate traffic stations and number of stations for traffic survey; manage the whole survey team and assign their work regularly and solve their problem during survey; manage field data; prepare survey report; communicate with senior engineers; prepare safety plan and implement it in the site during survey; etc.
Worked for “Southwest Flood Damage Rehabilitation Project” in Jessore District financed by ADB, executed by RHD and lead by PCI Ltd. Japan in association with CES Ltd India and DDC Ltd. As a site in charge for 24 KM road reconstruction and 14 nos culverts construction works, responsibilities were to maintain quality and quantity of all works. Tasks were to supervise site regularly to ensure quantities by taking field measurement; ensure qualities of works and materials by field and laboratory tests; prepare progress reports; assign and monitor works of lab and survey team; guide contractor’s representatives and engineers; monitor safety work; solve construction problem; certify contractors invoices; communicate with senior engineers, etc.
Worked for “Chittagong Hill Tracts Major Roads Project” in Chittagong hill tract area financed by DANIDA. Executing authority was RHD and lead by CAMPSAX (Denmark) in association with DDC Ltd. Responsibilities were to carry out reconnaissance survey of several project roads; monitor survey work; work with senior engineers for geometric design, construction documents & drawing preparation, BOQ preparation, etc; calculate quantity of materials for various roads, culverts etc.
Worked for “Flood Damage Rehabilitation Project”, lead by DHV (Netherlands) in association with CES (India), M/s. DUL (Bangladesh) & DDC Ltd. The project was executed by RHD and financed by World Bank. Responsibility was to carry out 17 km road reconstruction work on Daulatpur-Kushtia regional Highway and Varamar- Daulatpur feeder road. Tasks were to maintain qualities of materials and works by field and laboratory tests; maintain quantities by field measurement; prepare progress report; monitor safety work; solve construction problem; assign and monitor works of lab and survey team; prepare progress report; certify contractor’s invoices etc.

Obtained CGPA 3.86 out of 4.00. Carried out a thesis named “Review of Environmental Impact Assessment of Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project” during the post graduate study.
Obtained CGPA 3.07 out of 4.00. Carried out an undergraduate thesis named “Behavior of reinforced concrete deep beam under mid span concentrated loading and the effect of shear reinforcement” under supervision of Dr. Sheikh Md. Nizamud-Daulah, Professor of Civil Engineering Department, RUET Bangladesh.
