Senior Key Account Manager
Meltwater Group
Total years of experience :13 years, 5 months
I was the youngest employee globally to be hired in to the Key Account Manager role to manage the top 10% of our most prestigious clients, 1 of 20 members in the global team.
•Sales to date exceed $4, 100, 000
•I had the lowest “churn” rate in the UK in 2013 losing only 9% of my client base (target of 20%).
•I was part of a two person team to grow The Co-Operative Group to largest value client in the U.K.
•I won two global competitions to win a prize to visit and work in another office of my choice resulting in two weeks spent in Dubai and Cape Town.
Moving in to Key Accounts meant that my portfolio went down in terms of numbers to 75 but increased in value to £1.5million looking after companies such as Manchester United, The Co-Operative, HSBC, Nike, Marks & Spencer and KPMG. This has given me more time to consult in person to keep on top of the clients changing needs and delegate some more manual tasks to our support team.
•I achieve and surpass not only sales targets but client retention targets.
•I maintain and influence powerful customer relationships at senior decision maker level through regular client meetings in the UK and (continental) Europe.
•I negotiate high value and multi-year contracts for existing and new customers.
•I conduct appropriate product demonstrations and client presentations.
•I partner alongside several departments to ensure an integrated approach to customer care and to ensure market needs are being met.
•I act as an expert on the customer and be the first to know about press articles & trends within social media
I was directly responsible for managing a portfolio of over 150 clients worth < £800, 000 including leading international brands (HSBC, The Economist, Christian Louboutin)
•I negotiated all renewals with the aim to raise the value and increase contract rate.
•My responsibilities were to consult, upsell, cross-sell and retain business.
•I undertook extensive training to understand the nature of the UK media monitoring, social media, and SaaS industry in general.
•I led a competitor landscape review on behalf of our department, differentiating the competitor product offerings to that of Meltwater's and presenting to the client relations and sales teams.
