Dispatcher/Operations Supervisor
First Transit
Total years of experience :22 years, 4 Months
On an average day I overlook the safe and timely operation of 20+ bus routes. My responsibilities include assigning buses to routes, making sure there is adequate staff, informing maintenance of any mechanical issues, solving any service issue and ensuring the safety of bus operators and passengers.
On a daily basis I supervised two supervisors and monitored 30+ buses to ensure schedule adherence. I staged stand-by drivers at the main hubs to reduce down time due to bus breakdowns, incidents, etc. Increased employee morale by utilizing extra drivers to give a proper break to over-worked operators and improved communication between operators and management. I made suggestions to improve service which were later implemented by the company. Awarded for going above and beyond the call of duty during the Blizzard of 2010.
