• Commercially responsible for Civil, Structural, Mechanical & Electrical works.
• Responsible to control and monitor project total expenditure including verifying and checking of invoices and claims from suppliers, vendors and subcontractors to ensure that all project expenditures are captured and properly recorded..
• Cost and Earned value analysis on a monthly basis including forecast updates and presentation of report to Project Management team.
• Subcontract administration duties include tender preparation, management of tender process including RFI / TQ management, prequalification compliance, evaluate and advise on any commercial or contractual departures, present tender appraisal to various stakeholders for review. Contract award including any post review financial or contractual negotiations and administration of subcontract to final account

• Working as Senior QS in a team of 4 Quantity surveyors working on a JCT D&B framework contract undertaking variety of large scale New Build & Fit out / Refurbishment Projects
• Projects involved in Senior Quantity Surveyor capacity included Sunderland University Student Accommodation (Fit Out) £3m King Edward V1 High School (Fit Out / refurbishment) £2m, Northumbria University New Nursery (new build & fit out) £3m, Ponteland First School (new build & fit out) £5m
• The work is through a framework agreement with Northumberland County Council and working under an overarching JCT Design and Build contract. The role therefore requires a close working relationship with the design team and providing advice in terms of cost implications. The role involves taking projects from very early inception stage to feasibility cost planning and trough to construction and final account stage.
• In 2013 in order to help develop the business whilst continuing with QS role on larger project I moved into bid and tendering for competitive projects for a wide range of projects both in terms of scope and size
• Upstream the role involved the cost estimation of the project and subsequent agreement with client, preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts, variation / change management and preparation of any contractual correspondence.
• Downstream the role involved the management of all subcontract commercial and contractual issues including ITT preparation, Contract negotiations and Procurement, verification of interim claims and dealing with any contractual correspondence
• The role required the setting up of cost control systems to allow accurate forecasting and cost / value reporting, identification of risk & opportunities in the project and liaising with project management to allow efficient running of the project.

• The role was a lead QS Role reporting to Commercial Manager on all aspects of the commercial process including pre and post contract Quantity Surveying activities, Procurement and contract negotiation, Cost control, and the financial reporting
• High spec office fit out in Newcastle upon Tyne. Over 6 floors the works involved strip back to shell and high end fit out for client. Works valued at £5m and were phased to allow the clients business to maintain continuity.
• Working from inception to negotiated tender through to Final account on 2 Supermarket Fit Out projects. Both jobs were existing stores and once closed were stripped back to shell and fit out to Client specs and standards. Jobs valued at approximately £3m each but higher value approx £5m when including Client Direct contractors that were managed by us.
• Completed 2 complete high end Fit out / refurbishments in Bushey and Neasden, North London. Work involved bespoke high end fit out of the stores working 24 hrs to complete the projects within a tight timescale.
• 3 Retail Fit Out projects in Ayr, Stockton & Leeds. Works were within a live working environment and required segregation of work space along with out of hours working
