Milaha has become one of the largest and most diversified maritime and logistics companies in the Middle East. The operations now range from ocean transport and offshore support services, to 3PL (third party logistics) and ancillary solutions.

Currently employed as the Corporate HSSEQ Manager, a Milaha Corporate Department Head position. This role is one that unifies and directs all HSSEQ activities over all Milaha business pillars including Qatar Navigation, QShip and Halul Offshore. During this time Halul was nominated as a finalist for the Lloyds List Company of the Year Award (2012) primarily due to the work completed on the integration of the management systems.

Responsible for determining policy and procedure of the organisation and monitoring and auditing the implementation. Currently undertaking a significant project for the implementation of integrated systems certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and BS OHSAS 18001.

During the period of employment audit performance of business units has increased by 300% and KPI performance has achieved targets set.

As the Regional HSSE Manager I was primarily responsible for forming corporate safety requirements and ensuring compliance within business units across the Middle East, Africa and China, consisting of individual project values in excess of US$500m.

The business units within my field of responsibility undertook project management, aluminum smelter construction, building and industrial construction, manufacturing, and maintenance functions. These operations comprised of in excess of 5000 employees and numerous additional contractors from various cultural backgrounds.

During the undertaking of the Qatalum project, Kempe Engineering received the client award for safety performance. Throughout the project Kempe achieved in excess of 5, 000, 000 man-hours LTI free (spanning the 26-month project period) and an AIFR of 3.6 per 1, 000, 000 man-hours.
