• Install all new equipment on site to the required standards and specifications.
• Diagnose faults on the plant and with specific items of equipment as appropriate.
• Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, with due respect for the health and safety legislation.
• Examine the condition of parts to detect imperfections as appropriate.
• Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjust parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repair or replace defective parts as appropriate.
• Lubricate and clean parts relating to equipment.
• Perform start-up procedures following the repair of, or new installation of, parts in order to test their performance and safety.
• Set-up and operate drills, presses, grinders, welding devices and other metal working tools to make and repair parts. (Where safe to do so)
• Assist the other Maintenance Engineers as and when appropriate.
• Carry out electrical maintenance work within level of competence.
• Carry out mechanical maintenance work within level of competence.
• Use hoists and other lifting/safety equipment as necessary in accordance with instructions.
• General housekeeping duties to be carried out on a daily basis to encompass the Maintenance workshop and all other stations where repairs are or are to be carried out.
• All above items relate to all areas of the facility and services.
• Foster open communication with all members of the Maintenance team, using pre-described formats e.g. daily shift log book and incorporating handover discussions, relaying relevant information pertaining to work outstanding and work carried out..
