Who we are looking for:


State Street is looking for a functional tester for Record Keeping System team located at Bangalore, India, who is responsible to functionally test code developed for the RKS application to create new functionality requested by the business/clients. RKS is the State Street system which supports clients’ middle office operational requirements. The coding updates are managed via an Agile development methodology with code propagating thru staged environments; initiated in Development, moved to UAT for functional application testing, then BUAT for business designed testing and after a formal sign-off and approval process is deployed to Production.   


What you will be responsible for:


The Candidate is responsible for analyzing and understanding the business requirements for projects in support of the middle and back offices’ daily accounting functions. Once requirements are analyzed the Advanced Tester would develop the appropriate test cases, support required test set-up and then execute the functional testing manually and ideally the candidate will be able to support automated testing as well


As a Functional Tester – Senior Associate, you will possess:


  • Analyze business requirements in support of projects assigned; work is typically related to support of global investment managers’ middle office processes and financial markets’ requirements.
  • Based on the business requirements and the functional specifications outlining the RKS development’s project solution; the Advance Tester creates required functional test plans, then supports test set-up and UAT testing of the new functionality created
  • Execute the automation scripts created and publish the results in a timely manner
  • Work closely and collaborate with other team members in an Agile team environment to test, report and track defects during each Sprint / Iteration
  • Work with other State Street teams to research and resolve issues/impediments utilizing proven problem-solving skills
  • Support tracking and storage of test plans/results per State Street SDLC guidelines
  • Create automation test scripts to provide coverage for the test cases

Technical Skills:


  • The candidate must have over all 8-10 years of experience and at least 3+ years of testing or business analysis experience supporting the implementation of new and/or amended code for middle or back-office accounting systems. 
  • The candidate ideally will have a good understanding of the daily operating model used to support middle and/or back-office operations for global investment managers.
  • Proficient in executing SQL queries and stored procedures for RDBMs like Oracle
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Proficient in the use of Jira and Xray for testing support / documentation
  • Proficient in Java based Test Automation tools

Soft Skills:


  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and take the initiative when needed
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting
  • Possess good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies
  • Ability to foster and maintain strong relationships with all partners in the Software Development Lifecycle such as business, development, technical support teams, etc.

Education & Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
  • Preference to have some knowledge of Financial Market domain (Derivatives, Equities, Fixed Income Mathematics, various asset classes and their characteristics, particularly with respect to market data, settlement and clearing).
