Principal Data Governance Engineer – Informatica

This role involves conducting audits and assessments of data governance practices, developing standards and policies, and proposing strategies to enhance data governance. Responsibilities include aligning information security with data initiatives, planning stewardship activities, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure effective data management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed audits of core systems and information assets. 
• Perform qualitative and quantitative assessments of data governance and management practices. 
• Develop and maintain data standards, policies, and procedures to support the data governance program. 
• Suggest activities related to data access management, data quality, data literacy, data management, people and culture, data analytics, and processes in data maturity assessments. 
• Propose new data governance programs and enterprise information strategies. 
• Embed and align information security strategies with data governance initiatives. 
• Plan and execute data stewardship and data management activities. 
• Assess data risks and offer risk management approaches. 
• Develop data quality metrics. 
• Create and maintain data dictionaries and business glossaries. 
• Offer best practices for data governance in projects. 
• Suggest target states for data maturity and conduct gap analysis. 
• Collaborate with data architects, project managers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to conduct data governance activities. 

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data governance disciplines: data profiling, data quality measurement, exception management, remediation, metadata management, and business intelligence. 
• Hands-on experience with the following tools: EDC, IDQ and Axon.
• Extensive expertise in designing and building data capabilities such as Asset Models, Data Catalogs/Dictionaries, Business Glossaries, Policies/Standards, and Workflows.  
• Hands-on experience with Informatica Cloud Data Governance & Catalog. 
• Hands-on experience with Informatica MDM, IDQ, and IICS. 
• Experience in data modeling, data mappings (various layers), data validation, and match and merge rules. 
• Ability to write data quality rules (business-facing and pseudo-code). 
• Understanding of reporting and data analytics to ensure overall accuracy. 
• Knowledge of industry-leading practices in analytics and data movement. 
• Conduct architectural evaluation, design, and analysis of data lineage and solutions. 
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field. 
• Experience with other data integration or data management tools is a plus.
