RESPONSIBILITIES
• Playing a pivotal role in defining and delivering the policies for the finance and accountancy department as a financial controller.
• Working in close conjunction with chief executive officer and management teams, with full accountability for managing working capital and all operations of finance and accounting of the company.
• Supervise monthly closing activities and preparation of financial reports. These activities include customer invoicing in line with terms of contract and tax compliance and respective disclosure in tax returns, recording of accounting
transactions in ERP, preparation of receivables and payables aging and devise an appropriate course of action, stream-wise profitability analysis, department wise profitability analysis, budget variance analysis, payroll calculations, and disbursements, ensure timely submission of income tax and sales tax returns.
• The Principal point of contact for external auditors and also tax consultants to address their challenges to ensure the
timely conclusion of annual audit and annual income/ sales tax returns.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
• Prepared and took lead to successfully implemented revenue assurance policy manual, revenue and receivables accounting policies, waivers and adjustments policy manual. Implementation of the above policies resulted in a reduction of revenue leakages and more reliable reporting.
• Highlighted various revenue leakages by performing different analytical analyses which resulted in substantial savings annually.
• Executed user acceptance testing of proposed billing solution and highlighted key limitations which resulted in the rejection of the proposed billing solution. This performance was recognized by top management and was awarded as the star performer of the quarter.
• Awarded two times employee of the quarter title and for three consecutive years appraised as an exceeding expectation performer.
• Assigned the role of acting team lead and successfully lead the team for about one year in absence of the manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Worked in close conjunction with CFO and other sub-departments of finance, with the responsibility of 4 revenue streams.
• Supervised/ performed monthly closing activities which include calculations of revenue, discounts, receivables, security deposits, and receivables provisions. Perform reconciliations with billing solutions and subsequently prepare dashboards and profitability analysis i.e. site-wise profitability analysis for review of CFO.
• Given the role to present the monthly revenue analysis to CEO and HOD’s highlighting performance of various revenue streams in a given period along with key findings of exception reports highlighting anomalies from company policies.
• Other responsibilities included Analysis of mandates, products, promotions, and systems life cycle to proactively reduce the risk of revenue leakages and recording of respective financial impacts. Calculations of sales and dunning commissions after validating every single sale/ recovery.
• Key responsibilities ranged from the initial assessment of controls, the performance of a test of controls, the performance of substantive procedures as instructed by engagement partner, discussions with clients regarding business operations and accounting practices, execution of work designed by senior team members/ managers, preparation of deliverables i.e. management letter, verifying compliance with various laws applicable to client’s industry, filling of monthly sales tax and withholding tax statements, filing of annual tax returns after reviewing from tax manager.
