Responsibilities
• Work with field inspection personnel (and where applicable their employers) and suppliers to ensure that field inspection and test activities are undertaken in conformance with applicable GEAT processes.
• Developing and implementing quality management processes and systems
• Providing technical support to project, design, and field construction inspection personnel on capital or maintenance projects;
• Responsible for ensuring that the inspection personnel possesses prerequisite technical competencies for the scope of supply they are assigned to verify and are suitably trained to access and apply the applicable aspects of QMS.
• Make sure that Construction Work Packs are reviewed for adequacy.
• Helps drive product quality into products through concept, design, and development and transfers to service operations and subsequent release to the final customer.
• Works with the project team to ensure that customer requirements can be validated and design requirements can be verified.
• Assists with the project management plans at the start of projects to define the application of quality within the project.
• Acts as the customer interface, managing quality escalations and performing quality audits.
• Reviews contracts, extracts and flows down customer quality requirements to projects and product documentation.
• Active involvement in design development and design reviews with project engineering, driving quality into the design and processes.
• Mentors members quality assurance (engineering), documents control, and quality control (inspection) team.
• Provides support and leadership in proactive quality programs including waste reduction projects, incident prevention, risk management, and service improvement through the use of predictive analysis and other risk management tools.
Tasks and Responsibilities/
• Obtain the Commissioning Manager’s alignment regarding the system boundaries and MC dates.
• Preparation of the System specified start up and turnover plans.
• Participation in the review of P&ID’s and control strategies in view of commissioning, start-up and safe operation of the power plants.
• Perform preset to Work check out of system for safety, and technical readiness.
• Preparing the system for Set to Work (valve positions prior to start up & during startup, ex.)
• Commissioning and start up of fuel oil, fuel gas conditioning equipment, gas compressors, water bath heaters, and scrubbers.
• Perform all pre-Seatwork inspection, complete &sign off all appropriate forms.
• Identifying problems and short comings with existing systems.
• Coordinating testing and commissioning activities and providing advice on testing and commissioning procedures and documentation.
• Producing or assisting in the production of all tests and commissioning documentation assist la test of blowing, flushing and start up of systems
• Undertaking testing and commissioning activities in line with the specified site requirements.
• Monitoring progress, recording all test results, witnessing final testing and acceptance of equipment and compilation of all documentation for inclusion in the site test dossier.
• Ensuring the safe testing and commissioning of completed installations to achieve the necessary plant performance in accordance with project programmed requirements.
• Manage the work of the equipment suppliers’rep.in site startup activities and execution of Site Acceptance testing (SAT)

• Support teach system that is turned over, providing supplemental knowledge and technical support during the dry run of the draft commissioning

• For the Commissioning side:
• Manage the De/Re-commissioning process, with the control system and a small team
• Operating instrumentation & control for inspections (will consider similar inspection equipment experience)
• Carrying out commissioning and test work on turbines in compliance with the plans of procedure and the technical and regulatory specifications

• Performs inspection preparation tasks at the home office together with the specialist offices (internal and external) with regards to scope of work, required documents, evaluations of previous inspections, test plans, test certificates as well as instrumentation, tools and consumables required
• Is responsible for the process specifications being met. Critically examines the process specifications, the measured variables of components and systems to make sure they are within specification
• Within the context of fact-finding, the Assessment Eng. assesses parts, components and systems in the course of inspections as well as post failure analysis of damage or malfunctions and submits proposals for the further use of components and parts
• Inspections are mainly: Visual (Baroscopic), Electrical, mechanical, and Vibration inspections
• Completes appropriate test certifications to document the tests and inspections performed.
• Maintains a list of pending items and a log book covering the work done and machine-related events
• Upon inspection completion, participates with component owners (internal and external) in the assessment of the findings and the solution finding process for necessary improvements
• The Assessment Eng. is responsible for the quality of all work performed.
