Provide leadership to a team of 600+ staff and volunteers on one of the largest conservation related IT projects in the world, involving 650 institutions in 72 countries. Responsible to ensure that the IT objectives are aligned with organization's long-term business strategy. Lead infrastructure, helpdesk and development teams to support clients in 72 countries. Communicate status, own & resolve issues, and calculate & mitigate risks for various programs. Manage an operating/capital budget of US$2.5 million.

• Led contract negotiations for ZIMS Project that saved estimated $3.5 million by securing a favorable outsourcing contract.
• Established PMO from scratch and implemented project management processes suitable to a large, diverse, distributed team.
• Participated in long-term strategy planning and along with the IT strategy planning also prepared long-term financial forecast that helped ISIS gain the confidence of 650+ members from 72 countries after a 50% increase in membership fee.
• Created the project infrastructure for the ZIMS project to support the member driven design process and rapid expansion of the project team from 40 to 600. It included setup of Project Portal (MS Sharepoint), setup of MS Project environment and other group collaboration tools. ISIS has estimated a value of $2.5million per year of volunteer efforts being added to the by this highly motivated team.
• Re-organized customer support for 20, 000+ users at 650 locations in 72 countries, and achieved 10% improvement (85% to 95%) in customer satisfaction ratings within one year exceeding all expectations.
• Initiated goals based performance measurement system that resulted in more quantifiable performance evaluations and greater motivation for the team.

• Developed an ERP solution for a large Indonesian chemical manufacturer. The project was completed in time and $1million below estimated budget. The system implementation supported the retail sales growth from 1M LTR to 2.5M in three years. It also helped in reducing order backlog from two weeks to three days and a 25% overall inventory levels reduction.
• Achieved 100% clients’ approval by implementing project management methodologies and best practices.
• Introduced portfolio reporting and score cards to improve the project selection and monitoring.
• Saved $3 million for a client by recognizing the infrastructure weaknesses at an early stage for a DOT COM startup in A/V streaming technology.
• Introduced Scrum methodology for software development projects, which resulted in higher project success rates and improved customer satisfaction.

• Produced the financial model for a $340 million, 840MW Thermal Power Station (second of its kind in private sector in Pakistan). Project secured approval from government of Pakistan and by doing the financial model in-house it saved more than $1 million to the organization.
• Interface design of GGT’s CAD system to acquire Textile Marker data and post it to Batch Control Sub-system. The total system cost was recovered in six months by improving the marker efficiency from 93% to 97%.
• Led the Unisys-Novell Migration project for Intercol Bahrain and successfully completed the migration achieving all the targets without any business interruptions.
• Managed Oracle migration project to transfer COBOL/rdb (VAX/VMS) based software to Oracle 4 in a client/server environment.
• Designed and implemented a DEC VAX/VMS environment, with a population of 400 terminals and workstations for a large Garments manufacturer.
• Designed and implemented Export Management System for a large textile Manufacturer.
