Building lowest cost online grocery supply chain by spearheading various functions like Design, Quality, Control Tower, and Operations. Capabilities built so far are WMS Implementation, SOP Blueprinting, Operating Model, LM Route optimization, People Org etc
Managed a people org of 1200+ on roll and 25k off roll with 1 Mn deliveries every day for 15 states. Built lowest cost supply chain with widest network and diverse Org (10% diversity) by expanding Ekart network to 90% of India Post pin codes and building 10K Kirana network.
Primary responsibilities include making major business decisions on policies, workforce bench size and infrastructure, strategizing & managing the overall operations and driving continuous improvement, acting as the main point of communication between the zonal org and senior leadership. Managing Reliability, Speed, Customer Experience and Cost in city logistics (First Mile & Last Mile) Supply Chain on a scale of 12000 pin codes serving millions of customers and thousands of sellers every day.

Flipkart:
•Operations: Built Operations Org structure, smoothened & supported zonal teams, driven daily operations for scale, reliability & customer experience & fostered problem solving team culture. Scaled 2X business thru customer reach to 12k pin codes and seller reach to 6k. Improved last mile speed by 4x thru solving holiday, true flex and weekend availability. Articulated and developed Opex scorecard for comparative standing of zones on metrics to render healthy competition
•Strategy: Formulated Big billion days (BBD) strategy & managed event on account of infra, policy alignment on alternate delivery model mix capacity & service mgmt planning along with service recovery during event. Created first time bottom up roll up Annual operating plan (AOP), keeping a year horizon, capturing theme wise what and how list benchmarked with competition, Launched and revamped of R&R & Incentives structure for line staff and delivery boys for better conversion & Repeat offender policy to curb fake delivery attempts and theft of the shipments for customer experience
Lead Operations Excellence programs on designing new processes to handle exponential growth and complexities. Lead strategic and tactical projects to enable business to achieve scale and efficiency targets. Lean Implementations thru Kaizen competition & six sigma projects
Key Achievements:
• Design: 30% Last mile Cost per shipment (CPS) reduction achieved thru various structural disruptions that helped org to move closure to profitability. Some of the structural solves involved alternate delivery model mix, FM-LM Van fleet synergy, on ground productivity enhancement using MOST. Designed & blueprinted last mile supply chain processes for the first time to build the culture of standardization & sustainability. Brought down shrinkage Loss per shipment (LPS) by approx. 40% by introducing ‘Content verification process’ & ‘Open Bag Delivery’ which aim to eliminate the mis-shipment and mis-product in reverse logistics.
Responsible for planning, coordinating, direction of trim chassis assembly line & manufacturing of the required product quantities as per production schedule along with resource allocation and work cohesively with union to maintain harmonious working environment & ensure all jobs are performed safely, efficiently and accurately. Drive preventive maintenance operation & ensure equipment reliability/availability and durability. Ensure a safe and EHSQ compliant manufacturing operation (incl. e.g. TS1649, OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001/14001/50001)
Key Achievements:
• Operations: Managed daily operations and handled 300+ span of workforce on the ground. ‘WCQ-World Class Quality’ & ‘Du-PONT Safety Management System’ established in automobile assembly line that fostered the culture of First shot OK & zero lost time injury in shop floor. Designed and implemented a performance based payment scheme (PBPS) linked with organizational performance introduced in ‘Tata Motors wage settlement-2014’ for workmen
Responsible for establishing man-hour standards, productivity strategies & workforce capacity planning. Establish Ergonomics work standards & awareness. Train & Mentor Six Sigma Green Belt projects. Tata Group organizational assessments, application writing & gap analysis based on Tata Business Excellence Model (TBEM), a framework adopted by the Tata’s from the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Programme (MBNQA), USA.
Key Achievements:
• Business Excellence: A productivity model called TPES-Tata Productivity Excellence Model’ conceptualized & implemented to reduce NVA (using ‘MOST- Maynard Operation Sequence Technique’) & bad postures (using ERGONOMICS- Quick exposure check). Training module designed & 1000+ employees trained. MD appreciated the model. Goodness of 20% Labour efficiency baked in capacity planning.
• 5 day-week working proposed & implemented for unionized workforce/white collar in Tata Motors Lucknow Plant (later adopted by Dharwad Plant) in subdued market conditions to save on variable cost.
Responsible for Facility Planning & New Product development by planning of capital equipment, APQP activities, Development of SPM’S, Process Validation & Process Documents.
