Plan, carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in harmony with the centre’s philosophy.
Plan daily activities that support and promote physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
Provide a daily balance of active/quiet, indoor/outdoor, and individual/group activities.
Consider safety is priority.
Maintain the cleaning schedule of the classroom.
Practice fire drills.
Establish and carry out a daily activity schedule that incorporates child directed activity, care routines and transition times.
Engaging and encouraging activities planning including reading a story, music, singing and dancing and arts and crafts.
Organize space, equipment and materials before activities.
Plan outdoor tours and lunch arrangements in the classroom.
Assist children in expressing themselves by listening and responding with questions or comments that extend conversations.
Use a variety of teaching techniques including modeling, observing, questioning,

Encourage and assist children to practice self help in a daily routine like eating, dressing and toilet training.
Plan and carry out experiences that foster an understanding of a variety of cultures and value systems.
Prepare reports for parents or guardians on a weekly basis with a written observation or a photograph.

Work in collaboration with centre director and assistant workers.
