I was the PMC QA/QC Manager on the Sea Water Facilities Expansion Project, Ruwais during it's final stages.
Main duties were:
Co-ordinating Requests for Inspection,
Review of provedures and I & TP's
Inspection of incoming components at Contractor's workshop.
Witnessing the Cementation and lamination of GRE and GRV Joints on site.
Review of Final Documentation

PMC QA/QC Manager at Worley Parsons
  • United Arab Emirates - Abu Dhabi
  • March 2007 to November 2009

One of my two main areas of expertise is concerned with setting up and implementing Quality Management Systems and ensuring their efficacy and conformance to ISO 9001 via the process of auditing. Review of all Contractor-submitted documentation particularly Quality Management and Inspection Procedures and Inspection and Test Plans for all disciplines, which when deemed acceptable, were submitted to Client for approval.
The other involves co-ordinating the Source Inspection activities on large Projects. This consists of reviewing and monitoring Inspection Reports (IR’s) from the various ITPIA’s whose Client-appointed personnel, at various international locations, monitor the fabrication of equipment and linepipe, which have been accorded a Criticality Rating of I or II. These IR’s were also used in conjunction with ITPIA submitted timesheets for tracking the monies allocated to each ITPIA. Also involves managing the site activities of the Site Team of third party inspectors, (around 15), led by the Team Leader.
Prior to this I worked as a Welding Metallurgist for 12 years having graduated with a degree in metallurgy and was previously employed as a boilermaker welder for 8 years, 5 of which were as an apprentice welder.

My qualifications are as listed below.
B.Sc. Metallurgy, Strathclyde University, Glasgow, 1976
Post Graduate Dip Paisley College of Technology, 1988
Member Chartered Quality Professional, IQA, 2008
Quality: Delivering Excellence, Open Uni, 2006
