Maternity Cover
My role as maternity cover for this role was to complete certain tasks and make sure the daily budgets and marketing campaigns where maintained as well as anything ad hoc. The main tasks were to help with the new branding and announcement for Stirling Group and newly acquired company, I assisted with gathering all information to map the new website along with gathering all images and working closely with the web development team. Another task was to start work on branding the umbrella company. And finish the work on the new branding of Restrata. Some of the daily tasks included research on events in the industry that would be of use and sending reports weekly to managing directors, I would then book events and any sponsorship booths agreed upon. This would then include making sure we have materials to send to the events: brochures, give a ways, banners and any adverts for the program.
I moved from within the INFORMA family to the Life Science department to work on Exhibitions.
My role included the management of 2 new Exhibitions. This would include writing the brochures and website copy, designing the logo and websites. Setting up the marketing campaign to include emails, social media, mailings, web updates and text messaging. I would also maintain the budget for each event and forecast for future events. As an additional task I was asked to train the members of the existing team and any new members how to use the data software "Infront" to make data selections and write entire campaigns.
I was brought on-board as a trainee Marketing Manager to start a new team, to work solely on training courses. These are run very much like a small conference each lasting 5 days the main difference is we don't have media partners or sponsorship packages and the delegates receive a certificate of completion.
After 1 year I was promoted to full Marketing Manager where I began to work on Conferences this would include getting and maintaining a relationship with media partners and working closely with the sponsorship and sales teams. Additionally to my duties as a marketing manager I also work closely with the web team as a new project to try and make the micro sites more exciting as well as working with our inhouse team and the key accounts teams as there only marketing manager to drive that side of the business this includes new websites, calendars and diaries along with regular email and survey campaigns.
My career with MEED started off as a temp working on the large conference, Arabian Hotel Investment Conference (AHIC) my duties ranged from making sure the database was clean to managing 20 Emirates Academy students at the event. After my work on this conference I was offered a full time position working with the marketing events team my role was to do the analysis, keeping the team up to date with what is happening in the market. I was also given the opportunity to manage 2 conference campaigns along with 3 breakfast clubs that were held 1 a month.
OMD is on of the largest and most influential media communications specialists in the world. I started my career with OMD as the receptionist dealing with a range of tasks from making sure all important material was sent out on time to booking all flights. After 6 months i moved into an events and internal training position (OMD Academy) . Where i was in charge of organising all events such as our annual Academy and Masterclass conferences as well as a range of other events. My duties to the internal training was to provide and source any training the staff may need or desire. I assisted the Marketing department keeping the large database of contacts up to date and sending out monthly newsletters.
Elan is the Worlds leading IT&T Recruitment specialist. There specialism and domination of the IT&T market means that we have over 5000 contractors in UK alone. I started my career with Elan as the receptionist and moved quickly into the company to assist the New Business team. I was appointed Contractor Care. This entailed drawing up all new contracts and extension letters making sure that all contractors were aware of the payment plans and that all timesheets and invoices where submitted on time. I then moved onto my office manager/Pa position within the Edinburgh Office and worked with the regional manager for Scotland and Ireland.
British Linen Advisers is an independent corporate finance advisory firm owned by its directors and employees. They provide relationship based advice to private companies, listed companies, management teams and public sector bodies. I started out at British Linen as a receptionist and quickly moved on to an administrative assistant, my duties ranged from the general office duties to updating the website. I assisted with all pa work for 5 of the directors in the Edinburgh Office.

Travel / Part Time Bar Supervisor
This was a part time role to keep me busy in between my travels. I worked as a supervisor which gave me more responsibilities such as running the pub while the manager was away, cashing up and locking the pub on our busier nights. I was in charge of nightly stock takes. This job gave me a great opportunity to develop my customer relations with a wide range of people.

Temp - Administrative Assistance
DMH Baird Lumsden is a well respected firm of Chartered Surveyors, Land and Estate Agents and Country Property Advisors offering specialist professional property advice and services to the farm and estate, country house and rural property sector throughout Scotland. My duties as a temporary member of staff was to update the system using access and make sure those particulars for the desired properties were sent out. I also was in charge of audio typing all surveyors reports on a tight deadline.

This is a small mobile phone provider. This was a work placement as part of my NVQ course. My main roles included setting up new accounts and dealing with all administration. I assisted the general manager on day to day banking duties and making sure that the front shop and staff were kept up to date and tidy at all times.

I was Captain of the Netball, Hockey, Swimming and Tennis Team in my senior year. I was also Head Girl of the school for 1 term and Head of the girls house for 1 term.
