I joined this company in June and have since relocated on a permanent basis with my family to Doha, Qatar. I have been given sole responsibility for ensuring that the building is constructed in accordance with the Engineering, Procurement Installation and Commissioning (EPIC) design, coordinating and delivering reviews from a multi- disciplinary and specialist design team consisting of over twenty different specialist services, this is to ensure the projects meet the Client's expectations with regards to the design and quality.
May 2006 - June 2008 Hornagold & Hills (Project & Cost Managers)
Senior Project and Planning Manager responsible for providing pre and post contract Project Management. Successfully established Client/End User's initial requirements, priorities i.e. time/phasing requirements, availability of funding; cost plan/budget and quality procedures. Advised Client on suitable procurement routes for the selection of Contractor's. Set up reporting arrangements, valuation procedures, co-ordinated and implemented value management/engineering and risk management processes. Monitored works on site, implemented change control and reporting procedures to project close-out.
Having joined this company in May I have been given sole responsibility for two prestigious projects with a value of £47m including fees, I am responsible for providing construction project management to ensure the projects meet the Client's expectations with regards to the budget, programme and quality, also maintaining Co-ordination between the two sets of professional teams and two main contractors. One of the projects is a listed building with two retained facades and this will house a Primary Care centre and a Students Union, the second project is to be a an eight floor Building for training in Health, Education and Sports.
October 2003 - May 2006 Babcock SGI Consultants
Senior Project Manager working for this Multi-disciplinary consultancy. My primary role was to ensure that all project systems were carried out in full, and that programmes were maintained and projects delivered on time, to budget, meeting the Clients requirements. I instigated, developed and implemented the Major Capital Works Programme for the financial years 2004/2005, wherein I carried out £4.2m of works in 6 weeks. I was also directly responsible for the production of the Capital and M&E Works Partnering Contracts, including the formulation of the primary questionnaire and the evaluation of the returned tenders. I was responsible for Customer Services attending to End User Feedback, Complaints and Commendations.
January 2002 - September 2003 Hunter & Partners
Successfully provided Project Management including; Client Liaison, Design and Construction Management advice on all my projects. My responsibilities included managing, co-ordinating and controlling multi-disciplinary project teams of designers and constructors working on large and complex projects in the National Health Sector, on projects ranging in value from £5 million to £20 million. I successfully produced and developed the Company Quality Assurance Manual achieving ISO 9001 accreditation within 6 weeks from conception to completion, together with producing the company Web site. www.hapcom.co.uk. Recent projects include Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Trust (D&B) Pharmacy Manufacturing Equipment - New Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit (PMU) Development and Fit Out, together with the procurement and installation of specialist Pharmacy Manufacturing Equipment for the production of a range of ophthalmic medicines. The PMU was located over three floors (a Lower Basement, Upper Basement and a Ground Floor) and a five storey Service Tower within a mixed use development at Britannia Walk, London N1. The Lower Basement housed EC Standard Grade B and Grade C clean rooms, Quality Control Laboratories and associated storage and ancillary space. The Upper Basement houses the plant serving the Pharmacy. The Ground Floor housed the office space, a finished product store, rest room, training room and associated WC and storage facilities. The Service Tower also housed further plant and ductwork serving the PMU, value £10m. Ashmole Secondary School, Barnet (D&B) - New Development comprising of a Three Storey Building containing classrooms, value £10m.
August 2000 - January 2002 Alfred McAlpine Special Projects
Successfully provided Building Services Project Management including; Client Liaison, Design and Construction Management advice on projects, many of which were repeat business. The major part of Alfred McAlpine business being development, construction, utility infrastructure and maintenance services. My responsibilities included managing, co-ordinating and controlling multi-disciplinary project teams of designers and constructors on large and complex projects. The works undertaken covered the London and Southern Region, with a varied base of contracts ranging from Hospitals, Schools, Retail, Housing (Key Worker & Social) and Commercial Offices. The role required a controlled and flexible approach to Services co-ordination and management due to the varied workload and project types together with a different level of service demand on each contract. Projects included; Holiday Inn Express, Hammersmith - completed in 2001, value £7m. Britannia Walk NW1, London - completed in 2001, value £14m. Onslow House.

Successfully provided Building Services Project Management including; Client Liaison, Design and Construction Management advice on projects and marketing / bidding for new business. The major part of Drake & Skull's business being development, construction, utility infrastructure and maintenance services. My responsibilities included managing, co-ordinating and controlling multi-disciplinary project teams of designers and constructors on large and complex projects. Projects included; Drake & Scull Corporate HQ - value £1m. 5/7 Carlton Gardens SW1 - value £4m. Successfully completed a full apprenticeship with How Engineering Services Limited and progressed to commissioning supervisor undertaking full duties on major projects in the capacity of Senior Project Manager for the London Region responsible for the overall success of the Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health Services on all major projects. Liaising with Construction Managers, Sub-Contractors and undertaking full responsibility for the costs and financial success of the projects. Projects included; Chelsea Harbour Development - value £23m. 20 Old Bailey London, EC4 - value £11m. Hammersmith Hospital - value £2.5m. CAA Control Centre, Southampton - New development, value £30m.
