Marafiq is a Saudi Arabian privately operated joint-stock company which was formed by a consortium of major investors and has embarked on the implementation of a series of mega projects at an estimated cost of SR10 billion (US 2.7 Billion)

Challenged with setting up the procurement strategy, plan and procedures that now support a USD15Million spend for Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Systems, IT and Communication p.a.
• Sourced and selected suppliers both locally and across Middle East, US, Europe, Japan, Korea and India; whilst negotiating short and long range (1, 2, 3 year) supply agreements worth USD3Million+ per contract.
• Partnered with Accenture (Management Consultants) on defining a world-class procurement framework that allows Marafiq to manage risk associated in price increases in a rising market, on strategies to reduce supply chain risk, add value and to align procurement with corporate demand plan.
• Project managed the rollout of a new Demand Management initiative.
• Outlined the data acquisition 5 year demand supply plan worth USD70Million; requiring a detailed gap analysis between historic and future consumption data to provide accurate forecasts.
• Ensured that Marafiq's Social/Corporate Sustainability policy is invoked within the entire Procurement process for the procurement category and sub categories.
• Analysed performance of suppliers against required KPIs, and developed sound relationships with suppliers resulting in priority delivery and strong discount rates (up to 15%)

Formed part of a start-up team that would see Cooper Industries set up facilities in Dammam, KSA.
• Developed and implemented the supply chain model for this newly formed start-up, setting standards for procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory, and local vendor management.
• Focused on procurement from local suppliers to increase share of local sourcing from 0% to 50% in less than 2 years (initially suppliers were being sourced from US and Europe) . The change in procurement model helped the business become more competitive with 15% reduction in cost and improved speed of supply.
• Oversaw materials planning to support in excess of USD1 Million worth of orders per month.
• Generated, implemented and executed strategies to effectively manage demand planning and forecasting.
• Ensured that the company had the appropriate resources to support current forecasted business and projected growth, and that project forecasts were accurate and sustainable.

NAMA produces a range of Chemical Products like Epoxy Resins, Caustic SODA, Epichlorohydrine, Hydrochloric acid, Sodium hypochlorite and Calcium chloride total production capacity of its plant complex is 300, 000 MT and an internal turnover of around USD 200 Million.

Responsible for end to end supply chain management, including strategic purchasing of raw materials, procurement of packaging materials and plant spares, inbound and outbound logistics and warehousing.
• Negotiated and established contracts with road, air, sea and pipeline transportation providers for delivering 300, 000 MT of product to different destinations across the globe (contracts to USD 20 Million p.a.)
• Met with suppliers to build relationships, understand requirements and to formulate / tailor supply chain solutions that were serviceable, profitable, and competitive and met with client contractual objectives.
• Managed a total procurement budget of USD 120 Million p.a.
• Rolled out the company's REACH compliance for delivery of products to Europe.
• Established the logistics activities of Company's European Office, based in Switzerland, to store and deliver product to customers in Europe through a 3PL arrangement, and successfully managed 3 Warehouses in the Kingdom and 4 temporary storages in Europe, for material storage and delivery to customers.
