Designated as Audiologist (HAAD licensed), diagnose and manage various types of hearing disorders in normal and difficult to test population (from newborns to geriatrics). Carry out all instrumental evaluations in Audiology including Audiometry, Tympanometry, Electrophysiological assessments, Positional tests for balance disorders. Conduct hearing screening in individuals exposed to occupational noise. Counsel patient and family regarding effective measures of intervention and ensure active involvement of family for a successful rehabilitation program. Ability to take own decisions and work with team spirit.
• • Screening and detailed Audiological evaluation for newborns to geriatrics.
• Immittance audiometry (Tympanometry and Reflexometry) testing, Otoacoustic emission testing (OAE), Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA) and all special tests in children and adults.
• VEMP testing to determine vestibular functioning.
• Electrophysiological testing (BERA, AMLR, ALLR) to determine pathology in the central auditory system.
• ASSR testing in adults and children to determine integrity of the neurons in the auditory system.
• Neuro-Audiological diagnosis for patients with neurological problems (administration of P300, MMN) and its clinical correlation.
• Application of objective tests (BERA including higher potentials, OAE, Impedence audiometry) for pediatric and other difficult to test population.
• Application of special tests (STAT, TDT, SISI, ABLB) to differentiate between cochlear and retrocochlear pathology
• Psychoacoustic Tuning Curve measurements and QUICKSIN test to identify cochlear dead regions.
• Cochlear implant candidacy criteria determination.
• Auditory verbal training for those patients using hearing aids and/or cochlear implants
• Hearing aid trial, selection and fitting of all models of hearing aids (BTE, ITE, ITC, CIC).
• Dispensing and Software programming of digital Hearing Aids such as PHONAK, SIEMENS, WIDEX, RESOUND, BERNAFON & REXTON for adult geriatric and pediatric population.
• Regular participation in camps conducted at the community levels which included audiological evaluation, hearing aid dispensing and detailed counseling regarding the usage, care and maintenance of hearing aids
