- Review asset drawings, plans and reports provided by Project Affairs (PA)/Project Management Consultants (PMC) for future RO&M assets stage of preliminary, concept and detail design
- Work collaboratively with PA and ensure a partnership approach to final design of Public Works Authority (PWA) RO&M Assets is developed and maintained
- Review descriptions/technical specs in procurement documentation for contracts led by RO&M directly
- Provide accurate, timely and factual information on progress of designs in personal portfolio as part of regular reporting calendar

- Prepare and provide design solutions for other Sections of RO&M for mitigating various prevailing and impending relevant problems
- Prepare design, drawing and Bill of Quantity and Engineer’s estimate for various internal projects/purposes
- Research and keep up to date with current and future needs in terms of Assets including operation of design/modelling software
- Prepare and provide input for tender and work order specifications and work scope for contracting asset design projects, review tender submissions and provide recommendations on technical aspects
- Contribute to the delivery of projects related to asset management
- Present technical solutions to clients and other stakeholders
- Secondment by Mekdam Technical Services to Ashghal
- Act as Business Group Lead, manage Structural Engineering group (Bridges and Structures), staff administration and capability development.
- Lead in preparation of proposals in coordination with Market Leader, Team Leaders, and other SGMs if needed (multidisciplinary engagements).
- Identify opportunities to grow the group, both local and workshare.
- Maintain workload and utilisation of all staff (local and workshare).
- Act as Project Director / Job Manager / Design Manager on strategic projects.
- Monitor and maintain monthly fee forecasts and invoicing targets.
- Establish and maintain communication with Client OCs of direct workshare engagements.
- Maintain communication with Market Leaders and other SGMs, explore potential engagements whenever possible.
- Maintain constant communication with Operations Manager and Operating Center Manager.

- Carries out feasibility studies in assessing viability of structure design options and provide recommendations based on cost-benefit analysis.
- Reviews and assess acceptability technical approval documentation including Approval In Principle (AIP) submissions prepared by design consultants and/or Ashghal engineers on behalf of RMD as technical approving authority for the design and assessment of structures.
- Incorporates the parameters and findings of geotechnical reports into structural foundation designs.
- Carries out preliminary / detailed design and analysis of different structural components on new and existing structures in meeting the maintenance and replacement requirements of RMD.
- Supervises and provides design input to CAD designers in the preparation and production of design deliverables related to CAD and BIM works.
- Undertakes independent design check activities for structures and structural component designs carried out by others or in collaboration with other sections in RMD.
- Plans and carries out structural assessment in line with the requirements of the relevant RMD assessment codes such as AASHTO, British Standards, etc.
- Conducts surveillance checks in ongoing and existing Ashghal assets and provides design assessment of its adequacy and conformance to codal requirements.
- Involves in the implementation of Bridge Management System (BMS) that systematically integrates Ashghal's existing assets into 'real-time' and interactive interface, eliminating redundancies along the process.
- Prepares General / Special Inspection reports for asset structures as well as reviews the Principal Inspection reports submitted by Independent consultant/s.
- Carries out handover inspections to new and and existing projects related to structures of Expressways, Legacy and Local Roads and Drainage Programme.
- Reviews design calculations and drawings on prequalification submittals submitted by Contractor / Manufacturer / Suppliers as well as conducts meetings and factory visits as required.
- Attends contractor / subcontractor's meeting related to Asset operations and maintenance activities.
- Assigned as a PM/CM (Senior) Structural Engineer for the PM/CM of Lusail Development Project (Lusail City), Qatar's largest real estate project, a future city in the making.
- Reports to Technical Design Manager and/or Principal Structural Engineer.
- Responsible for the proper implementation of Client standards / Employer Requirements (LREDC / Qatari Diar), Qatar Construction Standards (QCS), Qatar Highway Design Manual, QTM, and the likes.
- Checking and reviewing of Civil / Structural design deliverables for Lusail Phase II Development scope of Design Consultants (Worley Parsons, CH2M Halcrow, Arup, QDVC, etc.) manually and/or by using STAAD Pro V8i, SAP 2000, MIDAS, Robot Structural Analysis, SAFE, ETABS, Prokon and Reinforced Concrete Council (RCC) Spreadsheets conforming to LREDC’s / Qatari Diar’s Requirements and the British Standards (BS8110, BS8400, etc), AASHTO LRFD 2012, IBC 2009 and many more.
- Reviews proposed structural engineering changes received from the contractors and advises the Construction Manager or Assistant Construction Manager of any potential issues.
- Works with the Construction Team to define workable structural engineering solutions as required for the construction package(s) - (CP03A2, CP03A3, CP05b, CP06b, CP06C, CP07A, CP07B, CP07C) assigned. Construction Packages are mainly consist of Marine, LRT Bridge and Box Girder Structures, Road Tunnels and Trough Structures, Switching / Distribution Substations, Pumping Stations, Utility Structures etc.
- Reviews contractors’ and/or subcontractors method statements and provides comments related to structural engineering designs.
- Provides technical response to structural eng'g-related RFIs in conjunction with the Design Team and Engineer.
- Conducts and witnesses periodic inspections to determine if structural works have been done in accordance with contract specifications.
- Prepares periodic special reports summarizing structural engineering-related issues related to construction activities.
- Assigned as Civil & Structural Design Engineer at Doha North Sewage Treatment Works, one of the largest Sewage Treatment Plant in the Middle East.
- Reports to Engineering Manager and/or Lead C&S Engineer.
- Liaise with Keppel Singapore for the design deliverables of MWH (Detailed Design Engineering Firm) in relation with Civil and Structural Engineering works which include to Roads / Grading Plan / Landscaping / Hardscaping Plans. Checking designs of Piperacks / Cable Racks, Reinforced Buildings, Warehouses, Massive Concrete Tanks such as Stormwater tank, TSE Balancing Tank, Pits, Retaining Structures / Walls, Storage Dikes, and related structures for Waste Water Treatment works etc.
- Reviews and checks subcontractor’s submittals in relation to the specifications and requirements of Clients and Consultants (Stanley Consulting Int’ls and KEO Int’ls).
- Responsible for the proper implementation of Client standards (ASHGHAL), Qatar Construction Standards (QCS), project specific or local specifications and standards.
- Provide technical support in the execution and development of site activities.
- Delegate construction related activities to concerned area supervisors per target schedules.
