-Ensure that all production activities in the defined area are conducted in line with laid down procedures and in a safe and efficient manner.

- Produce product to monthly and annual plan. Reporting machine efficiency in regular basis.
- Ensure that all deviations are investigated and where appropriate introduce the necessary corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare and control departmental overhead budget.
- Contribute to and manage loss in process budget. Ensuring yield is maximised.
- Co-ordinate the training of all departmental staff, thus ensuring that the necessary resources are available to meet production requirements

- Co-ordinate the development of staff assessing performance and determining training needs. Liaise with training department to ensure that training needs are met and that required facilities are provided.
Ensure that staff rosters are operated fairly and effectively. Conduct disciplinary/ counselling procedures as required
Advise Site Management, providing workable solutions to problems.
