Job Responsibilities:
Product Research
• Identify consumer preferences and trends and translate them into styles and products that relates to their needs
• Research global markets in order to identify new trends, fabrics, techniques, etc
• Gather information from Industry trade groups or through trade shows or market research/visits
Range Building
Merchandise Buying :
Travelling to China with the buying team to assemble and buy collection from qualified vendors.
Product Design
• Create/visualise an idea and make a sketch by hand or using computer aided design (Adobe Illustrator)
• Plan and develop ranges (colors, fabrics, trims, styles and pattern)
• Ensure the product is consistent with market trends as well as relates to market demands, company image and business strategy.
• Ensure brand/category clarity and parity to ensure consistency of brands/category across businesses
• Provide recommendations regarding seasonal themes, edits to line, new concepts, etc.
• Provide insights regarding style and fit of product
*Responsible for Trend Research, Sketching, Fabric Sourcing and Collection Planning
*Responsible for planning and developing design ranges (colors, fabrics, trims, styles and shapes for pattern)
*Responsible for the management and control of the daily operation of the workshop to achieve maximization of production, control of expenditure and losses with high standard quality.
*Responsible for the achievement of production targets for the workshop
*Supervising Pattern making and cutting in co-operation with the master pattern maker. *Responsible for following up and delivering effective explanation of patterns and designs to the tailoring staff.
*Quality control---ensuring the EFFA level of quality in fit and finishing and manufacture is maintained without exception.
*Communication with shop staff regarding orders and products and alternations. Following up to ensure that orders and alterations are completed in timely manner.
*In-charge of drafting patterns (based from Lectra pattern print-outs) according to desired measurements/grades
*In-charge of drafting new patterns for first garment samples
*Coordinated with Sewing/Cutting personnel to ensure correct output
*partly in-charge of sourcing and buying fabrics and accessories for the design material requirements which makes me very familiar with places like Satwa, Bur Dubai, Naif in Dubai, UAE
**Provided and ensured effective directions to production team (Pattern-Maker, Cutter, Sample Maker and Sewers) to meet effective and efficient workflow and consequently meet targeted outputs.
*Made sure that all work outputs in production met garment quality standard
*Scheduled workloads according to the highest priority and made sure that deadlines were met at a targeted time.

*designed (15) sets of garments for the runway show
