Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to patients
• Recognize the needs of patient and assess their condition
• Plans, give and evaluate nursing care
• Admits patient with direct supervision
• Performs nursing activities as bathing and oral hygiene
• Observe medical sepsis
• Support patient in moving, maintaining proper alignment of patient’s body and utilizing good mechanics
• Takes and records vital signs
• Makes rounds every shift and assess the IV site, check IV level, rate and site
• Observes signs and symptoms and relay it to the nurse on duty
• Prepares patient for and assist nurses with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Carries out doctor’s order and countersigned by the nurse on duty
• Assist physician when examining the patient
• Prepares and administer medication observing the rules in administering medication
• Discharge patients with supervision from nurse on duty and gives instructions on home medications and follow up care
• Receives and endorses ward equipments and supplies accurately to the next shift
• Follows hospital policies and guidelines
• Gives health teachings and citing examples to patients and relatives
• Charts accurately and legibly on nurses notes countersigned by the charge nurse
