HYDRO CARBON ANALYSIS(or) EFFLUENT WATER ANALYSIS:-
The Oil content in water by using Genesys 20-spectrometer-
using S316 -solvent and Horiba OCMA-350IR- Spectro meter and water samples of different streams are :-
Iron(Fe2+ferrous;Fe3+ferric), NH3, Silica, Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+, Ni2+, Cr6+, PH, Conductivity, Turbidity, Total Hardness,
Alkalinity, DO(by CHEMETs test kit).
Moreover, I could analyze Turbidity, Free Chlorine, SO4(2-), PO4(2-), TDS, TSS.For example, To identify the chloride
ions by using Argento metric method&Mohr’s Method by the addition of AgNO3 followed by K2CrO4was the indicator
resulting the colour changes was observed.(yellow to brick red), which was the end point to measure the chloride ion
presented in the whole of the effluent water. Initially, a silver-chromate(Ag2CrO4) ppt will be formed as a red color,
then changed in to brownish grey(AgOH)(PH will be 7-10&>10 by Mohr’s).
2AgNo3 +K2CrO4-------------->Ag2CrO4+2KNO3(Red) PH <7
AgNO3+-Cl----------------------->AgCl (white ppt) PH >10
Moreover, the other ions will be calculated by the strength of the ions presented is proportional to the intensity of
scattered transmittance of light which are observed by using spectrometer.
Gas and condensate analysis:-
• H2S-Gas by Tutwieler method and
• CH4, C2H6, C3H8etc, by GC.
