Network Support
• Establishing networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
• Maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization
• Remote support of on-site engineers and end users/customers during installation
• Remote troubleshooting and fault finding if issues occur upon initial installation;
• Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments, using information from multiple sources;

Server and System Support
• Analyze, design, test, implement, maintain and document enterprise server infrastructure required for the university's IT operations including both virtual and physical servers as well as data center focused software defined networking.
• Design for automated management, high availability, fault tolerance and security based on standards for integration with other technologies and services.
• Develop and maintain backup systems for all university data, providing for timely restoral and diverse disaster recovery.
• Replace the old servers’ infrastructure (HP G4) with the latest IBM Blade flex servers’ enterprise.
• Maintenance of the CRM system all the implementation phase installation, configuration and held responsible for integrating and monitoring data; Customization of the modules based on the university’s need was provided.
• Installation and Configuration for SQL for Great Plains Server, SCOM Server, SharePoint and ERP System.
• Develop and maintain systems and processes for testing and implementing timely server patching. Securely decommission and dispose equipment as required.
• Maintain and operate co-location facilities for physical and virtual servers. Work with customers and other ITS teams to determine technical requirements and service level agreements
• Maintain and operate the university's data center.
• Ensure power and cooling remain within tolerances. Schedule regular maintenance for power, cooling, fire suppression and environmental monitoring equipment. Keep areas neat and clutter free. Maintain secure access. Adhere to cable management policies and procedures. Perform physical installation and removal of equipment.
• Develop knowledge, skills and abilities in the core functions of the Server team and stay abreast of industry changes.
• Participate in on-call as required. Provide regular status reports and updates to the supervisor. Develop and maintain monitoring and alerts for all Server related critical systems, data center environmental equipment and co-located systems using the department's centralized monitoring system. Troubleshoot Server related outages and restore systems and services as quickly as possible.
