Project Manager (Mechanical) for MA‘ADEN Gold Project at Mansourah Massarah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Project is a Greenfield development and consists of mine, process plant and associated local and regional infrastructure. The Project is designed to process 4 million tons per annum (MTPA) of blended sulphide and oxide ore feed with expected gold exportation of 3.75 million ounces per annum.
Worked as Project Manager for Structural Steels, Mechanical and Piping Works for 2-MTPA AL-Taweelah Alumina Refinery for Emirates Global Aluminium at Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD).
Job Responsibilities
To understand and define project scope and objectives including Client’s Contract terms and condition stated in Contract Document.
To represent L&T in project execution and maintain official communication with the Client and other parties involved directly or indirectly for the Project.
To ensure that the client’s expectations in terms of safety, quality, performance and reporting are exceeded, by the effective deployment of appropriate management systems and effective organization, communication and motivation of the project team.
To ensure EHS practices are followed & implemented at work fronts and ensure that every activity is performed in a safe and productive manner
Establish weekly safety meetings and documents.
To ensure overall project work execution are in accordance to codes & standards, Working Procedures, Project specific working Procedures and Quality Management System.
Continually monitor and assist the Contract Administrator in updating the Project Construction Schedule.
To review and establish the Overall Project Schedule and identify critical work activities and analyze the project progress versus project schedule planned on regular basis in order to meet project schedule requirements.
To monitor, control and analyze overall project progress for each work category (facility and commodity wise) and take proper and immediate action as required. Inform all relevant parties to take immediate action once any possible delay identified.
To detail review, verify and endorse major purchase of equipment/ material/ Requisition/ Subcontract/ Purchase Order include overall contract document.
Obtain appropriate warehousing facilities for all material and equipment from Client.
Responsible for ensuring that the correct drawings, specifications and materials are in accordance with the contracts specification used in the project.
Define/Understand Sub-Contractor Scheduling Requirements for each Construction Work Scope
Monitor (and mitigate if required) the Construction Contractor performance
Define Areas of Risk for that assigned Construction Execution Scope
Interface with Construction Contractors in Providing their Data Requirements
To maximize the project’s financial return to Company, effective financial management, and careful management of project costs.
Maintain awareness with the Project Director of project budget vs. actual cost and notify of any budget discrepancies.
Keep Project Director informed of any issues that arise during construction.
Assist in establishing clear, positive communications between all employees as well as with the Customers.
Determine and advise as appropriate on applicable local laws.
Review and approve project invoices and include appropriate supporting documentation with such approved invoices.

June-2014 till date: Working as Deputy General Manager (Construction) for 1.4 MTPA Bar & Wire Rod Mill at Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel Co. LLC, Sohar-Oman.
Job Responsibilities
1. Finalization of overall Execution plan for Civil & Structural Packages in Bar & Wire Rod Mill in agreement with client and its implementation and monitoring.
2. Manage and monitor construction activities, making detailed plans and proposal to accomplish project goals through MPCS (Management Planning Control Systems).
3. Review contract documents and administer all issues related to the project in conjunction with Projects Manager in accordance with company’s policies and procedures
4. Manage resources and expenses to achieve contract completion within budget and time frame through monthly review of JCR (Job Cost Report) based on approved ACE.
5. Ensure Project invoices are prepared, reviewed and submitted to client in accordance with contract conditions
6. Ensure skills and training needs of assigned manpower are aligned to project requirements and support recruitment activities to source technically competent personnel for the project
7. Manage and monitor detailed plans and proposal to accomplish project goals directing the integration of construction activities
8. Ensure timeframes and customer satisfaction are met through weekly and monthly review meetings.
9. Establish and maintain standards of safety and comply with company’s Quality and HSE requirements as per Integrated Management System.
10. Apply statistical methods and perform analysis to determine constructible, productive, resources utilization, work efficiency and cost effective technical methods
11. To identify and scope any additional works and technical upgrades not covered in the contract to enhance the project deliverables, customer satisfaction and improve company’s revenue
12. Plan, schedule, and control projects disciplines to accomplish corporate goals directing the integration of construction activities
13. Build and maintain good relationships with clients /subcontractors and liaise with them considering company objectives
14. Ensure that quality control procedures are effectively implemented and inspection and testing approvals are obtained for all construction activities.
15. Evaluate periodically employee performance and identify training needs, incentives, pay adjustments and promotions in accordance with HR policy
16. Track performance of subordinates against established “Key Value Drivers”, and prepare recommendations for submission to Higher Management for applicable performance incentives, pay adjustments, promotions, establishment of new goals and objectives or
corrective performance actions as necessary
17. Ensure the certification of sub-contractors’ measurement and timely payment.
18. Perform any other duty requested by Project Manager
2.4 MTPA Steel Melt Shop at Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel Co. LLC, Sohar-Oman
Steel Melt Shop is executed and commissioned which includes civil execution, structural erection, equipment erection and equipment piping. The Melt Shop is having eight strand combi-caster (both round & square billets) as well vacuum degassing system for special ally steel.
Material Handling System for 2.4 MTPA Steel Melt Shop is executed on EPC contract basis i.e. detailed engineering, procurement & supply and construct including Electrical & Instrumentation.
Job Responsibilities
1. Finalization of overall Execution plan of all Mechanical packages (Structural Erection, Equipment Erection, Fabrication & Erection of Fume treatment Plant equipment and Material Handling System) in agreement with client and its implementation and monitoring.
2. Review of monthly Billing Projections and monitoring execution for its achievement.
3. Manpower & Resource planning and monitoring for its effective utilization.
4. Welfare of workmen and staffs.
5. Daily Progress review meeting with Area In-Charges against weekly and monthly targets.
6. Weekly review meeting with Client for work progress.
7. Ensuring Implementation of HSE procedures.
8. Safety Review meeting on weekly basis.
9. Sub-Contractors’ evaluation before placement of orders.
10. Review of certified RA Bill of sub-contractors.
11. Coordination with BU at Kolkata for supply of equipment regarding material handling package.
12. Coordination with EDRC at Kolkata for design related issues of equipment regarding material handling package.
13. Coordination with CMPC in finalizing the erection schemes for critical and heavy erection lifts.
14. Finalization of specialized agencies like NDT, Piping, Chemical Cleaning and Flushing.

1. Over all QC Monitoring for both civil & mechanical execution.
2. Procurement of Cut & Bend Rebars and Ready Mix Concrete.
3. Approval of Bar Bending schedules.
