• Define the project scope and allocate the required resources for each project,
• Lead with adequate supervision an experienced design team toward the successful delivery of projects in hand,
• Evaluate and motivate the engineering team toward continued growth and leading design solutions,
• Draw the time frame for the design process,
• Ensure that the multi-disciplinary teams building the project work together smoothly,
• Ensure that the projects are going on time, and within the budget, in materials and design costs,
• Solve any significant technical problems during project execution.
• Manage the interface with the client on all technical and design matters,
• Attend the meetings (kick-off, progress, authority, etc..) and represent the company,
• Coordinate between project stakeholders to ensure their engagement,
• Ensure that the projects are going on time, and within the budget, in materials and design cost,
• Liaise with the operational site team through regular site visits,
• Propose solutions for any repair or strengthening required as per site conditions / new clients’ requirements,
• Identify and manage any risks during the project lifespan,
• Identify any variations to the contract agreement, notify, document, and follow up toward conflict resolution until getting the approval.
• Report to the Business Unit Manager.
- Develop complex detailed designs (drawings or calculation notes) for projects in
area of specialty.
- Attend internal and external meetings in order to provide accurate information and
receive clear orientation.
- Correspond by e-mails and letters according to the internal correspondence
standards.
- Provide efficient and effective site back-up support, through the following actions:
attend to RFIs and provide practical design solutions for site problems after
careful consideration with direct supervisor, revise drawings according to new
client or authority requirements.
- Prepare drawings for authority submittal and ensure adherence to local
authority’s guidelines, with regular follow up until approval is obtained.
- Prepare the preliminary design submittal (in tender stage).
- Produce the comprehensive detailed design (in design stage) for the awarded
projects.
- Supervise the production of shop drawings and take off.
- Make the required reports for the design manager.
- Coordinated with the client to collect the required design information for the awarded
project.
- Follow up the submissions and approvals of the produced design document.
- Liaise with the operational team (in construction stage) to fulfill the construction site
requirements.
- Attend the required meetings and get the required approvals from the authorities.
- Make the required reports for the design manager.
