• Providing interface and quality coordination with other agencies, and acting as a primary contact on day-to-day activities with the Project Management and contractors’ representatives
• Part of inspection department’s technical review team (i.e., participate in developing Master Quality Plan for maintain potential projects and setting the quality requirements for mid-form contracts)
• Performing QMS audits on projects during construction precommissioning phase
• Participating in projects’ design reviews, including DBSP, E&C and design packages
• Performing periodic on-site inspection of work in progress to resolve issues, provide technical assistance, and to evaluate the adequacy of inspection
• Performing job interviews for Contractors’ QA/QC Managers, Supervisors, Inspectors and Auditors
• Evaluating and providing feedback on staff performance
• Reviewing final walk-through exception items
• Quality monitoring & Approval for all stages of construction and pre-commissioning up to final acceptance, to ensure compliance with applicable standards and project specifications
• Performing daily basis follow-up on all outstanding issue of project progress, safety, materials, submittals, queries, quality, and punch list items
• Conduct mechanical QA/QC inspection activities on pipes and equipment during, material verification at vendor, fabrication shops and at construction site. This includes piping, welding NDT, Hydrotests, Hot-taps, and Tie-ins
• Conducting interviews for Contractors’ QA/QC mechanical inspectors
• Reviewing technical quality procedures for all the required project activities
• Conduct punch listing on the finished lines/segments and all related documents
• Conducting and generating project exception items list
• Review project specifications for welding processes, base metals, filler metals, heat treatment, and NDE requirements
• Select appropriate WPS, and if required, qualify a new WPS/PQR
• Review order packages and advise the Quality Manager of potential materials, welding, heat treatment, or NDE concerns
• Develop welding procedure data sheets when new WPSs are qualified
• Witness the welders’ qualification tests
• Periodic reviews of Company welding practices, as related to codes, standards, and local regulations
• Review contract requirements and prepare purchase specifications
• Interpret drawings and prepare inspection reports
• Verify the compliance of base material, filler metal storage/handling, documentation, material and filler metal compatibility, procedure qualification records, welding procedure specification, welder performance qualification records, and NDT procedures.
• Verify welding equipment, edge preparation, and joint geometry
• Develop, Review and approve welding procedure specifications
• Witness procedure qualifications and welder performance qualifications
• Request welder performance re-qualification, when necessary
• Develop visual inspection procedures, perform visual examinations, review examination results
• Provide NDT inspection planning and scheduling
• Verify implementation of nondestructive and destructive evaluation methods
