Main tasks:
• Support the sector in developing the national strategy plan for tackling the NCDs
• Support the sector in preparing for the STEPwise survey

Developing clinical protocols and guidelines for NCDs
Integration of NCDs prevention and treatment in the Primary Health Care units
Surveillance of NCDs, and their Risk Factors
Conducting Researches about the NCDs and their Risk Factors
Planning, implementing and supervision of training in the field of NCDs
Supervision the Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and Control Program
Developing prevention and monitoring guidelines for CVD
Developing a national strategy for preventing and controlling hereditary diseases
Developing a national strategy for preventing and controlling hematologic diseases like Thalassemia and Hemophilia
Supervision of COPD program Prevention and Control
Supervision of Diabetes Mellitus Program Prevention and Control
Supervision of the Cancers Program in Syrian Arab Republic
Supervision of the National Registry for Cancer
Contribution in development of education materials and manuals
Participation in planning for training in many workshops
Participation in training in many workshops
Provide office coordination and management of AKU`s Nursing Initiative Programme.
Set up criteria and objectives for candidate’s nomination from MoH to join AKU-SON graduate programmes and courses and participate in the selection process.
Prepare reports as required.
Correspondence coordination/follow up with MoH authorities.
Assist in the evaluations undertaken by technical colleagues from AKU-SON.
Overall management of the school, containing a wide range of responsibilities and functions:
Human recourses management
Participating in Curriculum development and developing the schedules for courses
Developing and implementing evaluation tools for teachers and curricula, for students` satisfaction surveys, and for staff satisfaction
Conducting ToT workshops
Monitoring and Evaluating the teaching, courses and examinations
Leading schools' committees
Receiving students' complaints and, as appropriate, resolving the grievances raised
Coordination with other health authorities to offer the appropriate climate for practical training in training sites and to supervise the practical training
Developing a logical framework for the quality system in the school
