o Analyzing configurations of basic structural components of a building or other structure
o Calculating pressure stresses & strains that each component like a beam or lintel will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures such as weather or earthquakes
o Applying expert knowledge of the forces that act on various structures
o Using computers & computer-aided design (CAD) technology for simulation purposes
• Dealing with codes & design specifications governing practical design as per provisions of ACI Building Code
• Inspecting and Preparing drawings and checking specifications & computer models of structures for building contractor
• Designing & monitoring schedules with respect to cost, resource deployment, time over-runs and quality compliance to ensure timely execution of projects
• Coordinating with:
o Designers including architects to agree on safe designs and their fit with aesthetic concept of the construction
o Geotechnical Engineers to investigate ground conditions and analyze results of soil sample & in situ tests
o Construction sub-Contractors to ensure that newly erected buildings are structurally sound.
• Analyze all suppliers in order to select the most suitable suppliers who are able to deliver high quality products at competitive pricing.
• Manage suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, delivery performance, schedule and quality.
• Define and maintain documented category and supplier strategies using market and competitive data.
• Prepare, submit and maintain necessary records, and documentation and follow - up for all authorities’ approval.
