Review substations MEP drawings and verify compliance with appropriate codes and standards. Ensure that all installations are carried out in accordance with the drawings, specifications, quality plan and meets contractual requirements. Make necessary changes and corrections to drawings and documentations. Verify the proper use of equipment and materials according to project documentation standards and codes. Verify that materials & equipments are ordered and delivered on time for substation construction. Travel to project sites for walk downs and gathering information to develop the correct requirements for the projects to scope and develop substations. Participates in the staff meeting at site to review progress, problems and future activities. Attending project management review meetings. Perform all engineering and design activities with minimal direction. Lead, facilitate and coordinate work activities of others within the work group, team, department or those external to complete substation projects. • Inspects and tests electrical parts, assemblies, and accessories prior to installation in pumping station for conformance to specifications and quality standards, using precision measuring instruments and test equipment.
• Verifies wire and cable length, dimensions, and clearance of parts.
• Tests continuity and performance of parts, assemblies, and accessories, using test equipment.
• Records acceptance or rejection of parts on inspection report, and indicates reason for rejection.
• Examining installed wiring for a wide range of systems at different stages of construction. Visit work sites to inspect electrical circuits, Fire Alarm, Fire Suppression System, motors and other equipment.
• Performing checks during the initial phase of a project and follow-up inspections at points throughout construction. A final and comprehensive inspection is often done when the project is finished.
• Examining a broad range of systems in any given site and ensure compliance with safety ordinances and building codes. Responsible for reviewing and possibly renovating may involve lighting, security or heating and air conditioning. Keeping thorough records of work and often taking photographs to supplement written records.
