• Applying adult learning principles while carrying out all tasks associated with all phases of the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) process to have interactive and learner centric courses.
• Evaluate objectively training effectiveness according to such assessment procedures as are applicable.
• Lead trainer and assessor competency assessment. Undertake internal quality assurance on existing accredited programs; ensure program material is updated and relevant; manage data records for all accredited programs.
• Performs administrative duties associated with training delivery. This includes training preparation, scheduling and maintaining trainee records (test scores, evaluations and attendance), curriculum related activities in corporate Learning Management System, and post-training follow-up activities (evaluations and on-the-job observations).
• Travels locally to deliver classroom and hands-on training sessions. Include field visit and other work place learning assessment at different work location within UAE.
• Able to demonstrate and use various safety equipment including but not limited to SCBA, First aid kit, firefighting equipment, and personal protective equipment including chemical protective suits, boots, and gloves.
• Represents Training Team as a contact for training on projects and initiatives with relevant authorities.
• Interacts within Curriculum department and organizational stakeholders on strategic and programmatic initiatives requiring coordination between organizations for the design, development and delivery of required safety training.
• Conducting training courses on the firefighting, heat stress, first aid, electricals safety, incident investigation & reporting, risk assessment, RCA, confined space, scaffolding, working at height, HSE induction, SCBA and other topics as required.
• Preparing, participating and implementing the organizations training plan
• Responsible for the management, implementation and maintenance of the Safety Management System (SMS) on the project
• Integral part of team to obtain ISO certification for Health, Safety, Quality and Environment.
• Liaise with Client HSQE representative’s and attend meetings on behalf of contractor when required.
• Undertake regular audits on the SMS to ensure certification is maintained.
• Develop and deliver regular training programmes for HSQE aspect of the projects.
• Interact and consult with the project team on appropriate SMS management systems elements.
• Carry out internal audits or other HSE reviews and develop processes to eliminate or mitigate the risks identified.
• Provide recommendations for enhancements or changes to systems to evidence continual improvement.
• Review and comment on specialist service provider risk assessments and method statements
• Identify and develop processes to eliminate the root cause of OH&S deviations, in corrective actions on NC
• Key player in transition of ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015 system by leading HSE team.
• Conducts training needs analysis when applicable in order to identify training need or gaps in employees or trainees, training interventions, training material, or the training curriculum.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Rules and Regulations as per Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) H&S Standards
• Establishing a generative Health & Safety Culture within the Institute through the promotion, management and maintenance of the Corporate Health & Safety Policy, System and Guidelines; compliance and adherence to all the applicable local laws; providing expert advice on all related health & safety issues;
• Review existing RAs, identify gaps and take appropriate measures, where required.
• Ensure regular meetings are being held on H&S standards and advisories.
Prepare HSE policy and Procedures in compliance to the applicable regulations and best industrial /international standards.
- Ensure safe work environment with fully compliance to ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Develop Emergency Responds Procedure in accordance to the site’s locations and conditions.
- Keep up to date with changes in current HSE legislation and to bring to the attention of HSE Manager on any relevant new legislation.
Manage, directs, coordinates, and implements, health and safety initiatives and actively participates in the resolution of issues relating to, health and safety;
Develop and implement HSE Plans to support the achievement of the company policies and business objectives;
Provide a comprehensive day to day health, safety and environment services to support the project activities and associated processes;
Developed and implemented comprehensive audit plan and conducts HSE audits;
Develop and implements accident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures;
Have ensured compliance with all applicable state and local legislation and codes governing environmental health and safety;
Investigate and evaluate new safety equipment for appropriateness;
Coordinate and supervise the Safety Officers to ensure that adequate safety advice and resources can be provided to the business;
Ensure appropriate timely investigation and reporting of accidents and incidents including identification of immediate and underlying causes, actions to prevent recurrence and robust defence of claims;
Develop, maintain and continually improve written compliance programs pollution prevention, counter measure and control plan;
Assist senior managers during the implementation of various corporate environmental, health and safety processes;
Ensure proper record keeping is being conducted at all facilities.
• Supported in conducting risk assessments, maintaining comprehensive risk register, safety walks and internal audits by coordinating with different parties involved to ensure smooth flow of HSE processes
• Training and Induction of new employees in matters of HSQE and participate and/or provided assistance on on-going trainings delivered;
• Successfully improved employee performance, maintains improved performance, follows up actions to solve employee or work related problems. Ability to assist HSE training of personnel involved in the project(s).
• Saved company’s US $ 500 million dollar project solely by unique consultancy being provided to Department of state OBO, U.S.
• Successfully self-directed a training program one of its own kind in B.L Harbert International for 2500 employees including sub cons while reporting Site safety manager through unique training tracking system.
• Maintained a documented inventory of HSE training including specifications, requirements, curriculum, etc.
• Custodian of HSE Training matrix and Distinction of conducting 123, 600 man hours of training in a year out of 3.4 million man hour work which account almost 3.56% of man hours/ year.
• Highly regarded liaison officer to implement and maintain appropriate training facilities, materials, and resources to support HSE training in compliance with ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18000 requirements.
• Applied and implemented the Company’s IMS (HSE aspects) throughout the duration of the project.
• Ensured that all activities, within his area of responsibility, whether executed by Company personnel or subcontractor personnel, are carried out with full regard to HSE Company’s policy and procedures.
• Ensured that all personnel are advised of any HSE hazards by delivering induction courses and toolbox talks, and that the necessary controls and contingency arrangements associated with the work activities are in place.
