 Representing the Train Operating Company as a lead project manager for the Thameslink Rolling Stock Project. Which entails the procurement of a new fleet of trains consisting of 1140 suburban commuter vehicles designed to operate under ERTMS L2 and ATO, and also the construction of two new purpose built depots to maintain these new trains. It is part of a wider multibillion pound programme of works sponsored by the UK government to enhance the capacity of one of the busiest commuter routes in the London area.
 Worked closely with the Department for Transport (DfT) throughout the procurement stage, ensured end user requirements were captured in the train specifications and contract documents.
 Was part of DfT bid evaluation team; reviewing all bid submissions from the competing train manufacturers; reviewing each prospective train design, including the intended train performance, reliability and safety proposals.
 Evaluating proposed maintenance strategies against their depot design and resource plans.
 Scrutinising all design submissions, monitoring suppliers manufacturing facility to carry out build quality and assurance checks, witnessing first article inspections with the train manufacturer (and sub suppliers of critical systems), witnessing routine and type tests as well as reviewing technical reports and test results, ensuring trains were built as per the technical specification and safety requirements.
 Collaborating with all regulatory bodies and the UK National Safety Authority (ORR) ensuring attainment of safety approvals.
 Adhering to legislation requirements relating to Railway and Other Guided Systems (ROGS) regulations, Railway Interoperability Regulations (RIR), Common Safety Method (CSM) regulations and the Train Operators Safety Management System (SMS). Ensuring trains complied with UK and European applicable standards including European Technical Standards for interoperability and the UK Railway Group Standards.
 Closely coordinating with the Train Operating Company’s internal business functions to ensure a smooth integration into daily operations and service.
 Developing and planning operational readiness reviews and exercises, also reviewing, updating and establishing new processes and procedures, further enabling smooth entry to passenger service.
