Prepare the budget summary for submission to the budget committee through the Bursar;
Participate in budget discussion, presentation and defense;
Supervise all bank reconciliation statements;

Member, Interim Procurement Department responsible for;
advertising and soliciting for bids in compliance with guidelines by the Bureau of Public Procurements from time to time;
Receive and maintain appropriate documentation for bids received, examine them and obtain 'Certificate of No Objection' to 'Contract Award' from the Bureau and make submissions to the entity's Tenders Board;
Debrief the bid losers on request;
Resolve complaints and disputes;
Obtain and confirm the validity of any performance guarantee;
Announce and publicise Contract Award;
Execute all Contract Agreements
- Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
Ensure existence of proper control procedures in relation to security and access rights to computer systems that impact the financial and accounting records.
- Ensure that all accounting staff are aware of the financial, Administrative and operational policies and procedures of the Company.
-Ensure that all fund disbursement transactions are compliant with the Company’s operational policies and procedures prior to disbursement, e.g. completeness and accuracy of required documentation and approvals.
-Supervise the accounts staff outside the head office.
-Assess the root causes of problem areas and identify proper solutions to address errors and weakness.
-Provide the Bursar with all suggestions to improve and streamline the financial operational policies and procedures.
-Handle any review and procedural issues that have been escalated to the supervisory level. Ensure that problems are thoroughly resolved in a timely fashion. Provide any resulting information to the Chief Financial Officer if follow-up is required.
-Oversee the day-to-day activities of both the accountants
- Perform variance analysis on financial transactions on a regular basis. Provide any resulting information to the Chief Financial Officer if follow-up is required.
-Ensure proper training for all incoming key staff. Monitor initial performance to ensure that the accounting team is comfortable and familiar with the Company’s policies and procedures.
- Provides skill development feedback to the Chief Financial Officer to ensure that training needs are addressed.
- Assist the Chief Financial Officer in the process of preparation of financial statements and other management reports. Assist the Chief Financial Officer in implementing procedures that render the financial statements accurate and comply with IFRS.
-Supervise the bank reconciliation of accounts payables reconciliations.
-Provide feedback to the Chief Financial Officer on any problems with the accounting system.
-Ensure proper management of all accounting records.
-Liaise with external auditors to help them achieve their duties and address the issues raised by them.
-Participate in or oversee special projects and assignments as deemed necessary by Chief Financial Officer.
-Monitor the effectiveness of tools and resources used by the accounting staff. Provide feedback to the Chief Financial Officer on equipment and infrastructure needs.
- Update the accounting staff with all approved additions, deletions amendments to the policies and procedures.
Head, Final Accounts responsible for the posting of cash book summaries in to the General Ledger, Checking the accuracy of postings, preparation of trial balance and Final Account for the College.
- Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Should be able to handle the entire accounting activities independently up to finalization of accounts and audit
- Preparation and presentation of monthly & quarterly Financial statements
- Prepare reconciliations of Bank statement, Account payable and Account receivable periodically and report if any discrepancies found

Liaison work with internal and external auditors, banks and regulatory agencies.
Ensure all payments to suppliers, staff, and other external parties are made according to company policies and procedures
Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control.
Responsible for the maintenance of College's ledger by standard procedures as set out in the operating manual
Review and approved draft monthly management accounts and year end financial statements
Ensuring maintenance of adequate control over the process of payment vouchers
Review the preparation of the depreciation journals and ensuring that fixed assets registers are maintained correctly
Responsible for calculation and payment of College's wages and salaries
Encouragement of career development and training of all subordinates
Ensuring up to date job descriptions and operating procedures are maintained for the financial accounting division
